A few years of experience in the Energon Wars have gone a long way in Downshift. Once an impulsive speedster, he has learned patience and consideration from his mentor Hot Shot. Where he once would have raced straight into battle against even overwhelming odds, relying on his speed to get him out of tight spots, he has now learned to observe and enter a fight cautiosly. His keen eye and quick reflexes allow him to exploit even the smallest opportunity to bring down Decepticons much bigger and stronger than him.

[ Back To Top ]Profile: Compared to a lot of the soldiers he fights with, Downshift is just a kid. this war was old when he came online, and it's all he's ever known. Coming up on the mean streets of the Fourth Parallax (FP) neighborhood of Cybertron City taught him early that the best defense is a good offense. His native intelligence allowed him to quickly outclass the simple Decepticon thugs that ran the raceways in FP.
He spent his early years dreaming about fighting the good fight alongside Optimus Prime, but being the big 'bot in FP taught him a disregard for danger that almost got him washed in his first real battle with the Autobots. He quickly learned that speed alone wouldn't keep him functioning.
In the years since, he's become a fast, intelligent fighter who seems always to be a few steps ahead of any opponent. HJaving become a fan of Chinese action movies during his time on Earth, he fights witha style and grace rare among Transformers. His twin pistols are no mere affectation, however, as he uses them with incredible speed and accuracy.
Abilities: His paired magnum force blasters fire gravimetric pulses taht strike with astounding force, smashing more fragile targets. These pulses are, for all intents and purposes, bullets made of gravity. They deliver a great degree of blunt force damage to any taget they strike, and can cause a good deal of internal chaos even when the external damage appears minimal.
He is also a talented hand-to-hand fighter, having developed his own style, heavingly influenced by Earthling Judo, Muay Thai and Tai Chi. he has an extensive database on common weak points in Transfprmers physiology. he has learned to employ a complex system of joint locks and precision finger strikes taht can render an opponent cripped or helpless.
Assisting him in this is his Cyber Key enabled capture claw. This claw can deliver a nasty shock to an opponent with which he has closed the gap, leaving his hands free to quickly disable crucial systems. The claw can also deliver a devastating electric shock.
Weaknesses: Compared to many of the Autobots with which he has lately teamed up, Downshift is comparatively small and weak. His guns and fighting skills are more than sufficient tot take on most Decepticons, but larger or tougher enemies reder many of his skills and weapons ineffective.
He's very fast and tough, but he is not as maneuverable as many other Autobot speedsters. Gaps in his armor plating render him vulnerable to radiation and nano-poisons.
