Our own Djkevintron has dropped us an email with some interesting news. The preorder slips with mock up game cases for the upcoming Transformers Movie video game have now arrived at Ebgames and Gamesstop stores. Here is what Djkevintron wrote to us:

"Today 2/16/07 Ebgames/gamesstop stores in there new monthly marketing kit recieved preorder inserts for the up coming transformers the movie game for XB306, PS3, and Nintendo DS.
The inserts show the front cover being the eye over the earth poster with an RP(rating pending) rating in the lower left. The back of the inserts shows screens shots from the previous transformers game that was on ps2(yes even on the ds). All that is says on the back is for EBgames/Gamestop promotion use only.
I would have scaned them but its a grey area with company policy(sorry guys need the job).
There is no preorder sku listed yet in the EBgames/gamestop computer but sending the box art means there should be one in the next week or so. Fear not I will pass the preorder info on as soon as i have it!

We reported here some time ago that Hasbro joined with Glu to produce mobile content based on Transformers. One of the things that Glu would be making is a Transformers game. Now we have some new information about the game. Glu unveiled it at the 3GSM Show in Barcelona. The game will be based on the upcoming Transformers Movie. Here is what Glu had to say about the game:

"Transformers:
Gamers must help the Autobots find hidden energy on Earth before the evil Decepticons can get it. The mobile game will launch simultaneously with the console title and the much-anticipated movie release of the live-action Transformers film. Players battle as Optimus Prime across multiple levels and transform from vehicle to robot with special weapons capabilities. Enlist the help of the other Autobots in the race to fine the Allspark – the true source of power for all the Transformers."

Our own Milanion has brought us news about another article about the upcoming Transformers Movie Video Game. You may remember that we reported here that IGN.com posted an article about the game. Now IGN.com has posted another article about the upcoming game. According to the article Megatron's Earth mode is a stealth bomber:

"Since the game is still in development we weren't able to enjoy any of the more vehicle-specific missions, such as air combat with Starscream and Megatron (who, by the way, is a stealth bomber if you aren't up to speed in the new Transformers)"

Today at the Hasbro Preview at ToyFair we got to see a nice preview of the video game from Activision. Here are some items of interest:

- Game will be available on: Wii, XBox 360, PS3, and PS2.
- There will be an Autobot Game and a Decepticon Game for Nintendo DS, supporting 4 way multi-play.
- PSP gets a version of the game (maybe different from all), but with 4 way Multi-Play.
- Wii will get special Wiimote functions, such as throwing things, steering, etc.
- You can play as 9 Autobots and Decepticons. Unplayable characters are going to be boss characters or other important charcters.
- There will be unlockable characters and possibly movie characters that don't appear in the movie (like Wreckage).
- There will be G1 references in the game.
- It has a full interactive environment where you can pick things up and throw it at the enemy...including a Burger King sign.
- Burger King and Pepsi references were in the game, so we know they are sponsors.
- As the robot you can punch, shoot, jump, transform at will and drive/fly around when you are in vehicle mode.
- Autotargeting will be available.
- For game play, it reminded me of Grand Theft Auto, where you can run around the city (perspective was similar to GTA). The steering of the vehicle looked well done, where you could oversteer around turns, etc. If you caused too much ruckus the police would come and the pedestrians would go around screaming, especially if you were in Robot Mode (so being in disguise is important). Pedestrian interaction was not completed yet, but we were hoping you could pick up people and thrown them...jthat was ust our suggestion. The ability to use both modes via transforming was very effective because you could get away quick if you were getting beat bad.
- Graphics were very good and very fluid, even on preproduction. Audio track we heard was a generic one for pre-production, but final game will have the movie score. Possibly the voices will be the same as in the movie. Cut scenses are being rendered by a company called Blur (how ironic) that won many awards for game CGI.
- Storyline is different based upon if you are an Autobot or a Decepticon, humans are part of the story, but not part of the game play. Because of the dual roles the Decepticons can win in this one.

Information about the upcoming Transformers Movie video game has been scarce to this point. Today, however, more information has come to light. IGN.com has posted an article about the Transformers Movie video game. According to the article:

"Officially known as Transformers: The Game, the Traveller's Tales-developed actioner is scheduled for just about every platform out there (PC, PS2, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360) and will come out this summer with nearly identical content. Its storyline will follow the movie closely, giving players control over both the Autobots and the Decepticons as they choose to either protect the earth or pimp slap it."

Activision has went live with their game website for the Transformers Movie! The site currently lets you select login as an Autobot or a Decepticon where you then sign up for a news letter. While there are no screen shots available, one can only imagine the fun of swinging an Energon Axe via a Wiimote!

Our own sagitta has brought us news about new product listings related to the upcoming Transformers Movie. Cduniverse.com has posted listings for seven versions of the Transformers Movie viedo game. There are listings for a PSP, PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, and Wii versions of the games. There are also two Nintendo DS titles, Transformers Autobots and Transformers Decepticons. MMORPG Blog has debunked rumors about gaming developer NetDevil being involved with a future Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game for the Transformers brand. Several days ago, the site made a statement that NetDevil secured a contract with a major toy company. With the new Transformers Movie gearing up for its July 4th 2007 release, people jumped to the conclusion that game would be a Transformers game. In a recent interview, NetDevil CEO Scott Brown announced that the new game is not Transformers. After which he moved on to other topics.

Nintendo Power confirms Transformers Games for the Wii and DS

Powet.TV forum member spooie, reports that Nintendo Power Magazine has confirmed that there is both a Wii and Nintendo DS game in the works for the up coming Transformers Movie. The gameplay style is unknown at the time, but the developer is Activision.

Update: According to Nintendo Power there will be TWO different titles for the DS. Here is what was said:

"Based on the upcoming Michael Bay flick, Transformers will let you play as either the heroic Autobots or evil Decepticons. Each ‘bot will come equipped with unique weapons, moves, and transformations. Activision is planning a Wii version and two DS versions of the game.”
