Fresh and energized before an inevitable turkey-coma, the Twincast / Podcast is back to present our latest episode. Join host Scotty P as he sits down with the mysterious Punch, as well as our second potential new friend, SW's Silverhammer.
Episode #106 "McCarthyism" is available directly and in our RSS Feed and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
We start out by taking a look at the potentially not as easy to get
MP Exhaust and his battle against the forces of Philip Morris and the US Government. Will the Decepticons succeed in driving the cast to chain smoke for the rest of the episode? Or will the Truth campaign prevail? Neither of these things are addressed as we pick apart this tale of when the worlds of legal agreements and import Japanese Masterpiece Transformers collide.
Smoooooooke.
We then take a trip back into the Movieverse and take a look at the awfully tempting paint job of
Takara Tomy's AD-31 Armor Knight Optimus Prime. Is this a case of taking advantage of lower costs, or a premium piece that the cast will be avoiding?
You will buy me, or I will kill you.
Generations takes center stage next when we have a chat about the initial Combiner Wars wave now that there are
official images from Hasbro of these upcoming toys. Find out who's happy, who's soured, and who just takes things as they are.
Crotch elbows got nothin' on chest shoulders.
In our special topic of sorts for the episode, we take a look at some older toys that have worked their way back into our hearts over the years. What toys have you re-discovered a love for lately? Maybe it's something you didn't appreciate before, or maybe something completely ignored years and years ago. Either way, let us know what kind of Transformers stuff you've either re-discovered or newly discovered recently by replying to this post. It doesn't have to be all about toys either!
Sailing back into your heart, and the world of the living.
We then move on to comics talk (starts at 55:21, skip to 1:22:56 or so to avoid spoilers), first by exploring the return of Shane McCarthy to the Transformers world in this month's
Drift: Empire of Stone #1. Does Drift return to bring the fandom its favorite
thing? We don't think so, plus, yours truly gets all hypocritical with the artwork given how Regeneration One went, so tune in for that fun and more.
Drift's a dandy guy, doing dandy things, in space.
Then we move on to the latest chapter in the complex space opera landscape of
More Than Meets the Eye #35. Has the cast had enough of this time travel business? And what's Brainstorm been up to?
Full on spoiler warning continues for this section, so be warned!
Get the getaway car, Counterpunch, he's figured out the show!
On a somber and/or cynical note, we chat about the
layoffs at Jagex, the company responsible for the Transformers Universe MMO game that never quite got into the air. Listen in to our compelling discussion as no one is surprised by this turn of events.
A visual representation of hopes for this project.
We then finish off with some Bragging Rights. Prepare to be dazzled by our tens of collective additions!
Lots of Maketoys in this one.
That wraps things up for another episode! We sincerely hope you enjoy this one.
Don't forget, the show only gets better if you tell us how. Drop us a review on
iTunes and be sure to tell us what you love, what you hate, and what you want to hear!
Not on the show to give your take? Probably not, so don't forget to keep the discussion going on the

You see the title. You know the show. You can talk Transformers all day. You hear the Twincast crew talking about stuff where you've got a take, and you've just got to get it out. Is that you?
If so, the
Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast may be in need of you! No one is permanently leaving the show, but as your ears may have been able to tell, some of our longtime regulars have grown-up, responsible adult type stuff to do that's taken away from the time they can spend podcasting. Due to this, we're looking to bring on one new regular cast member. Potentially, we'll add more than one, but that's only if we're just blown away by more than one applicant.
Here are the qualifications for a potential cast member:
- An absolute love for the Transformers brand - Not just the toys, not just the comics, not just the shows, not just the movies, not just - well, you get the picture. Even if something isn't your favorite, you'll need to keep up with the latest and greatest and be ready to discuss it. Our show is known, as least partly, for the depth of knowledge of the cast, and new crew should keep up that standard.
- Drive and desire to make the show better every episode - This is purely volunteer work and every episode will come with some responsibility. No one on the show gets to show up, record, and forget about it. You must be driven to actively contribute and help make this the best Transformers podcast on the internet.
- An outgoing personality - Not much explanation required here. Shy personalities need not apply. Have to have the ability to keep up a long conversation and be able to treat occasional guests like they're old friends.
- Ability to have fun, opinionated arguments while never losing your cool - We don't all agree on everything, and that's awesome! Anyone coming on to the show needs to be able to get into a good, intelligent debate, and keep it professional. If you get angry and irrational during arguments over opinions on Transformers things, we're not the show for you.
- Team first mentality - We're not looking for the next celebrity. We're looking for a piece of a team that can contribute to the whole of that team. If you're looking at this and your first thought is that it'd be a great way to plug your Youtube channel or personal blog, then you're probably not what we're looking for.
Here are the absolute, non-subjective, technical requirements:
- Must be an active member of the Seibertron.com community - As a cast member on the Twincast, you become part of the Seibertron.com staff. You must be an active member of our community, and you must be willing to continue to post on the forums regularly after joining. Staff members of other Transformers fansites are not eligible to be a regular Twincast / Podcast cast member, however current Seibertron.com staff are eligible to audition. Regular contributors to other podcasts will be considered on a case by case basis - if you're doing sports talk somewhere, whatever; if you're doing Transformers talk elsewhere, we need to know this.
- Weeknight availability - Must be available on most Thursday nights, but also Tuesdays or Wednesdays as needed, with the occasional other night thrown in as needed around holidays. Recordings are around 8:30 PM Eastern time. This one is completely non-negotiable, as availability issues are why we're having to look for new voices!
- A good internet connection - You probably need at least a 20 megabit down connection to participate if you live within the continental US. If you live outside of the US, you may need a much stronger network, otherwise the entire production may have difficulty remaining stable and at a good quality.
- A Skype account - We won't always use Skype into the future, but for the time being, this is the medium used for call recording.
- Decent microphone or headset - As long as it sounds good, it works, but your built in laptop mic, for instance, probably isn't going to cut it. Also, need some decent headphones. Speakers cause echo and may not be used during a recording.
Here's how to apply if you feel you meet all the requirements:
You'll need to record two clips, and send them in to us in mp3 format. One clip should be thirty seconds long, and the other should be one minute long. No other formats will be accepted and no clips where the talking exceeds the time limit will be accepted (if your file starts with three seconds of silence and ends with a couple and it's 1:05, no big deal, but if the time from your first word to the last is over the limit, your entry is disqualified). Yes, these requirements are a test, and you need to pass. Please do not spend money to do this, there's plenty of free software.
For the
thirty second clip, give your thoughts on one of the following three topics:
- Comics Topic: How do you feel about Megatron's turn to the Autobots, and did you find it handled well stylistically?
- Toys Topic: Talk about your favorite toy from Transformers: Age of Extinction's toyline.
- General Topic: What is your favorite era (could be a whole era like "Unicron Trilogy" or single period such as "Beast Wars Season 2") of Transformers?
For the
one minute clip, answer one of the following questions. Your choice from here should address a different area of the hobby than the thirty second clip. In other words, if you picked a toy topic for the short clip, do not pick a toy topic here, and vice versa:
- Comics Topic: What is your favorite era/book/mini-series of Transformers comics, and why?
- Toys Topic: Do you think Hasbro's "Combiner Wars" theme for 2015 will help combat potential sales lost to third party companies?
- General Topic: What keeps you interested in the Transformers?
Each clip should be recorded as if the host has prompted you to answer it on the show. Once you have them ready, send me a Private Message here on the forums to let me know that you're interested. This will allow us to verify that you're an active community member here. Once we've done that, you'll be sent an email address to send the actual clips to, and that's it!
Deadline:
Deadline for entries is 6 PM Eastern Time on November 9th, 2014 and we will not accept any more submissions after that time.
Judging:
All interested candidates will be contacted by November 12th at the very latest. At that time you'll either be moving on to the next phase of consideration described below, or we'll let you know that we won't be moving forward in having you on the show.
We'll pick our favorite 2-4 clips (more if there are more really good submissions, less if there aren't), and then those folks will, one by one, get to appear on an episode for a tryout. This tryout will be the ultimate criteria used in final judging. Depending on the number of folks we want to audition, there may be one person auditioning on an episode, or we may have someone audition for an hour, then we'll have them leave and bring someone else in for other segments. Just depends on what we get and what feels like the right thing to do when we cross that bridge.
There's no set criteria for judging the folks that audition, it will come down to a vote by the seven current members of the Twincast crew. Chemistry is everything, you may be the next big thing in Transformers podcasting, but if you don't have chemistry with us, you just don't have chemistry with us. Seibertron (Ryan Y.) has final approval and veto authority, since, you know, he owns the site! Of course, even though the final decision is in our hands, listener feedback in the podcast thread for the episode(s) where audition(s) occur might sway our opinions.
Good luck, and we look forward to hearing from everyone that applies!
Disclaimer: An offer to join the Twincast team stemming from this event does not guarantee any permanent arrangement. If circumstances occur that lead to any requirements not being met in the future, performance (real or perceived) after audition period drops below an unacceptable standard, or if responsibilities beyond recording your voice on the show are not completed, invitations to appear on future episodes may be revoked.

Welcome to the Twincast Podcast Episode 101. Last episode was a celebration, but this episode it's back to business as usual. ScottyP hosts with Seibertron and Tigertrack jaw-jackin' on a Saturday afternoon about the most recent
Transformers GENERATIONS toys and
NEW comics releases, as well as recent club happenings. We find time to answer a listener question, and we’ll actually take time to discuss the other listener question within the thread for this episode (which you can participate in!).
Oh and one more thing,
which is a very cool thing, Jon 3.0 and ScottyP were able to sit down with Garry Chalk... you know the guy who is quite famous for lending his voice to some of the more recent Optimusii in Transformers lore such as Optimus Primal from Beast Wars and Beast Machines, and Armada Optimus Prime (and more!). Tune in for "What’s up Chalk?" in that segment of the Twincast.
Episode #101 "Talkin’ ‘Bout My Generations" is available directly and in our RSS Feed and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
(Remember all times are approximate)
01:10 - 08:21
Have you found
Generations Leader Class Jetfire yet? Photography guy Seibertron got his hands on it (and there's a
gallery), as well as, Tigertrack. We spend a good 10 minutes talking up the first non-movie related leader class figure released in some time. Gosh he's chromey.
Transformers Generations Jetfire GalleryI love these pictures!
8:21: - 37:41
And the podcast crew talks about some of the smaller, but just as important
Generations releases like Windblade, Crosscut, Jhiaxus, and Nightbeat. Conversation tends to get a little off track as we delve into things like eHobby exclusives, store exclusives, and the death of encore and G1 reissues.
And we mention Generations Cliffjumper and Gears a too.
Transformers Generations Windblade Gallery
37:41 - 44:21
More Transformers collectors club talk as fans received the Autobot’s resident mneum...neum.... needle finger dude.
Chromedome and his head sculpt....
Transformers Convention & Club Exclusives Chromedome Gallery
44:21 - 1:08:46
...and
Club Tarantulas Color Change, the club store archive sale. Yes, the club offerings were talked about quite a bit.
1:08:46 - 1:19:21
Our group spends some time ‘ooo-ing’ and ‘aweing’ over the amazing work done by the
creative members of the Seibertron community. We looked over some the
‘CREATIVE ROUNDUP’ offerings for that week and spend time giving love to some very talented folks, and their projects.
image and custom belong to MarcusCole1978
1:19:21 - 1:42:38
Here’s the chat with
Garry Chalk. Jon 3.0 and ScottyP spend nice 15-20 minutes with the legendary voice. Can’t miss!
Transformers Beast Machines Blast Punch Optimus Primal (Beast Convoy) Gallery
1:42:38:02 - 2:24:34
SPOILERS
We spend the next 40 minutes just breaking down the current comic offerings from IDW including
Robots In Disguise 33, and
More Than Meets The Eye 33. Be warned there are heavy plot and character spoilers that happen during the discussion.
Spoilers
2:24:34 - 2:33:17
We spend some time on a listener question here as Seibertron is asked once more,
“What is it that you hate about 3rd party figures?” The actual question just asked Seibs to share his
‘stance’ on third party figures (Seibertron does not HATE them). And we spend some time discussing the 3rd party offerings and whether HASBRO is going to be able to compete.
A second listener question was brought up, but we’re going to handle it in the discussion topic. Want to chime in with your thoughts? Answer the question below before, or after we do...
"Could there be a discussion on the topic of obscure series or characters or series/ characters that could potentially become obscure [since series such as Rid/A/E/C are getting older]?"--you have a thought about this? Hit ‘discuss this’ and share below.

We made it.
After four years and 99 episodes, we've finally arrived at episode #100. We're thrilled to bring you this very special edition of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast. Join your host
Counterpunch as he brings along special pals
John Barber from IDW Publishing, freelance author
Jim Sorenson, and our comics editor
Va'al for unique segments you're sure to want to catch. Although, first you'll have to listen to your regular cast
Jon 3.0,
Razorclaw0000, yours truly
Scotty P, and
Seibertron, who pops in for a few as well.
Episode #100 "#100 in a Four-Episode Limited Series" is available directly and in our RSS Feed and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
(3:26)
After a brief intro, we dig in to the storied history of the Twincast / Podcast! And yes, you get the actual history this time, not a made up story.
There is still no Generations version of us
(14:45)
Ever want to go behind the scenes of the show? You may second guess that desire after hearing us chat about our setups and where we record from. Here's a hint: it's not in a professional studio.
We heard that "Honest Trailers" is done from here too
(18:15)
Bragging Rights pop up out of nowhere! What kind of haul has Razorclaw0000 ready to Never Forgive? You can listen, but I'll just spoil it with an image here anyways.
You can call me Senpai
(21:35)
We do sneak in some actual news in this episode! New Masterpieces are on the way including
Exhaust and
Star Saber. Listen in and these exciting new toys make their way into our hearts and... lungs? Did we chain smoke our way through this one? You'll have to tune in to find out.
Come to where the flavor is.
(28:00)
From Counterpunches to debates to drunk convention appearances, there have been a lot of amazing Twincast moments over the years. The cast recollects their favorite times, so listen in to find out what we've enjoyed over the years, and be sure to share your favorite Twincast moments in the discussion thread below!
I was at a bar too, in Raleigh, sad that I wasn't in Orlando
(43:30)
Believe it or not (and I'm sure you probably do believe it), the show that you get to listen to doesn't always have a smooth road it travels down to get there. Can you imagine us messing up? We certainly can, and we take a look back at some of our "oops" moments over the years. Learn more than you ever wanted to about the how and why behind the "how" and "why?" moments you've heard.

At least Hasbro makes transformation bloopers too. Wait, why won't that image work? Damn.
(53:53)
It's been a long journey, so we make sure to take a different look back in time. Which member of the cast has been on the site the longest? What awesome rockin' topics were all the rage back on
August 12, 2010? Click the link to look back, and listen to the latest show to hear us realize that we're getting old. Oh, and don't tell, but this is
technically our 101st episode
This was once the new hotness
And now I toss it across the pond to our resident King of Comics,
Va'al, who stayed up extra late to help us welcome some extra special guests! Take it away Va'al!
(1:05:26)
I'm taking it, ScottyP, takin' it to places where we've never been before: the realm of IDW, and its senior editor John Barber! And John doesn't only work with transforming robots, he has full tapestries of serial
killings comics, where GI Joe shows up more than once too.
We talked about a number of things with Barber, and you can hear them all if you follow the time mark above, but here's a rundown for you:
Ever wondered how long he's been a part of the franchise? He was there when the comics started. He was there with the cartoons and even with the toys - which still pile-up on his desk regularly, it seems - all long before he became a writer (with the movie stuff) and editor at IDW Publishing.
Not Barber's desk
Since then, he's been doin' it with style on Robots in Disguise, which has hit a new peak recently
with issue #32, and we talked about how he sees Prowl, Thundercracker and what the near future will hold for the cast, especially Galvatron, the Headmasters and a possible
Game of Thrones echo.
Did it work?
With that in mind, we moved even further into the future, and what Combiner Wars might bring us, between six issues of 'the series formerly known as RID' and the returning Windblade series. And Razorclaw000 thinks we get a major scoop about Megastator.
So close
I also manage to sneak in a question about the highly divisive, but otherwise extremely popular, collaboration with Tom Scioli on Transformers vs G.I. Joe, and just how much fun they have working on it.
FUN
And to round off, we went back in RID's history to two of the best received issues pre-Dark Cybertron, to look at Soundwave's new spin, and how the cassettes got their voices in the comics.
Insult-bot: Origins?
If you haven't been reading Robots in Disguise this far, make sure to head to
ComiXology or your local comics shop to pick up the
Phase Two, Volume 1, any of the trades, or single monthly issues!
And thanks again to John Barber for joining us for this special occasion.
(2:25:54)
We weren't finished! The man of a thousand voices jON3.0 brought along a special guest, the curator/archivist/bounty hunter with a hat - Jim Sorenson! We talked hats, conventions, the
Complete Allspark Almanac, past work that he's done for IDW like the
Art of Prime and how he juggles it all.
Jim's robotic avatar, by Kris Carter
Then we looked at what's yet to come, specifically another co-authored book with Bill Forster, a celebration of 30 years of Transformers toys and their packaging art:
Transformers Legacy. This will truly be a big, chunky piece of history.
A BIG book
And as we than Jim for also joining us to celebrate 100 episodes, here is where I launch the laptop back across the ocean, hoping ScottyP will get it to finish writing. Ready, Scott?
-----
Got it! Thanks for the write-up Va'al, and thanks again to everyone that's listened over the years, plus everyone that's dropped into the show! We're only going to get bigger and better from here, so stay tuned over the next four years on the road to episode 200 for fun Transformers talk and more, much more, than meets the ear.
Don't forget, the show only gets better if you tell us how. Drop us a review on

Not on the show to give your take? Probably not, so don't forget to keep the discussion going on the

Got a question for the Twincast? We take all of them, we just don't take them all seriously! Leave a question in the

Welcome to the latest edition of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode features your host for the evening, ScottyP, along with Jon 3.0, Rotorstorm and Tigertrack. Tonight we discuss those bizarre cloud figures, some neat TFCC goodies, a really drool worthy Masterpiece figure and how times are changing in the collecting world.
Episode 99 "Penultimate" is available directly and in our RSS Feed and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
(0:20 - 10:48)
We start of the night discussing the newly released images of
TFC-D04 Hellwarp and TFC-A04 Roadbuster ... will anyone actually be getting these figures? Guess you'll have to tune in to find out.
(10:49 - 19:21)
The cast recently got their
TFCC subscription service figure Treadshot with Catgut...and the reviews are pretty stellar.
YAY no paint issues!
p.s If you have your figures on display, here is a
must buy!
(19:23 - 27:28)
Of course we NEED to discuss these incredible photos of
MP Ultra Magnus...
...as well as how excited we are for this guy,
Star Saber!
(27:29 - 46:38)
With the overload of products coming out, we discuss a topic that has been at the forefront of a lot of collectors minds lately. Are we experiencing another exodus of collectors? Has the enthusiasm for the brand been diminishing and why? Listen in to hear what we think and our personal views on this topic.
(46:39 - 01:09:22)
Up next we talk comics! The cast dives into
Robots in Disguise #32,
Primacy #1 and
MTMTE #32.
...and it probably wasn't a good idea for Rotorstorm to mention that she finally started buying the comics. *epic fail*
(01:09:23 - 01:20:49)
Up next we have a listener question that the cast probably could have gone on for hours about.
(01:20:50 - end)
And of course we close the night with our bragging rights! Tune in to hear what goodies we were able to get our hands on finally.
Thanks everyone for listening and we appreciate the continued support! Don't forget, the show only gets better if you tell us how. Drop us a review on
iTunes and be sure to tell us what you love, what you hate, and what you want to hear!
