Greetings Seibertronians! We saw a tease of it before but now, thanks to a tip off from fellow Seibertron users, Mindmaster, Bacem, Sabrblade, Bud Grimlock and TF-fan Kev777[/i], Hasbro have now revealed Maverick officially!
Maverick also comes with two guns a volleyball, two alternate hands so he can mess around with the latter and a mini motorcycle to he'll recreate one of the iconic scenes from the first movie.
Here's the official press release from Hasbro:
TRANSFORMERS-TOP GUN COLLABORATION INTRODUCES ALL-NEW ‘MAVERICK’ ROBOT CHARACTER – AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER TODAY!
‘More than Meets the Eye’ Takes Flight
in Celebration of the original TOP GUN Film
PAWTUCKET, RI – July 13, 2020 – Feel the need… the need for speed! Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS) and Paramount Pictures today revealed the first-ever TRANSFORMERS-Top Gun collaboration, starring the all new character MAVERICK. Not to be confused with Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, this new TRANSFORMERS robot makes an ideal wingman, taking form as the iconic Northrop Grumman F-14 Tomcat® jet from the original Top Gun film. This nostalgic Top Gun mash-up MAVERICK robot marks a celebratory moment ahead of the highly anticipated sequel to the iconic original film, Top Gun: Maverick, releasing December 23, 2020.
After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.” Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.
TRANSFORMERS Autobot MAVERICK stands at 7 inches in robot mode and can convert from robot to classic Northrop Grumman F-14 Tomcat® jet mode in 25 steps (The F-14 Tomcat is a registered trademark of Northrop Grumman, and is used under license). He includes a screen-inspired miniature motorcycle accessory and 2 alternate hands that can hold the included volleyball accessory. This bot is always ready to go vertical in jet mode or dominate a slow-mo volleyball montage in robot mode. This MAVERICK robot figure also features folding jet wings, movie-inspired details, including a helmet design inspired by the 2020 Top Gun: Maverick film, and includes 4 missile accessories that can be mounted on figure’s arms in robot mode and under wings in jet mode. Even the packaging is inspired by the aircraft carrier!
TRANSFORMERS robots have always been more than meets the eye, but now, through the TRANSFORMERS Collaborative, fans can experience these larger than life characters as they team-up, mash-up, and meet up with other characters, teams and people who share this same special quality. It is a world of constant change where things are not what they seem.
The MAVERICK figure is available now for pre-order at HasbroPulse.com, while supplies last.
So far there's no word on any accompanying media like there was with the Ghostbusters and Back to the Future crossovers.

Prime 1 Studios has given us some fantastic live action figures over the years, with highly detailed and very large statues representing our favorite on-screen heroes covering a wide range of characters from the Movie-verse. And to celebrate 8 years of producing these statues, they have revealed their newest offering for all to see: Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime!
Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime is a statue of giant proportions. Among his impressive and imposing presence is the fact that he stands 29 inches tall, so right up there with the Haslab Unicron in terms of size. And he certainly contains more detail and a truly impressive paint job. He also features a plethora of display options, which include different hands, arms, weapons, and more so you can customize him and up and make him look downright awesome.
While we don't have a release date or a price yet (though the statue will be expensive as past ones have been), we do have a bunch of nice images for the upcoming statue for you. We will share some below, and you can follow the above link to view the full gallery.
Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
Thanks to regular YouTube reviewer PrimeVsPrime, we have a nice video review of Studio Series 48, a Universal Studios exclusive redeco of Dark of the Moon Leader Class Megatron! This "As Seen In Parks" version of the Decepticon leader recolors and repaints the Studio Series 34 figure in gunmetal gray and as PrimeVsPrime notes, shows off some of the molded detail of the figure better. This figure does not, unfortunately, include Megatron's cloak, or the mini figure of Igor, as he's meant to better represent Megatron's appearance at the Universal Studios theme park Transformers ride. Check out the review below, and let us know if you plan on (or already have) picking up this figure in some manner.
According to the website GSMarena, we have news that Chinese phone maker iQOO will be releasing a Transformers themed mobile phone in China on June 1st, in collaboration with Hasbro. The themed version of iQOO'S 3 5G phone will be packaged in a special box stamped with the Autobot logo. It will also come with a protective case and charger carrying the same logo and theme, and comes preloaded with interactive interfaces, and Transformers-themed icons and wallpapers. For the techier among us, there are two versions, one with 12GB and the other with 128GB. Additionally, it uses iQOO's Android 10 based interface.
While the phone is set to be released only for the Chinese market, it does make a cool addition to the growing list of Transformers-branded merchandise. No price has been announced, though their regular version of the 3 5G runs 3,798 Chinese Yuan, which is currently about $532 USD.
Preternia on Twitter posted images of more upcoming toys part of the My Little Pony crossover series. We have My Little Prime which is a pony in Optimus Prime colours as well as Morphin Pink Pony, who has Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Pink Ranger colours.
It seems to just be one character from each franchise, so it's not really a full fledged Transformers My Little Pony crossover, just a fun one off. We do not have many details about these releases yet, aside form the fact that Amazon will be carrying them in some countries.
For those of you who are interested, Seibertronian WonkoTheSane has given us a heads up on a great deal at Gamestop's website. Their listing for the G1 Optimus Prime model kit is available to preorder for only $16.99, which is a savings of nearly 60% off the usual $40 MSRP of these figures. For those of you unfamiliar with Flame Toys figures, they're officially licensed model kits that you assemble yourself. They're highly poseable, and in general, tend to be more stylized than you'll find with regular transforming toys. Click the link above, or any of the pictures below to be taken to the preorder page.
