A new image has surfaced of a bag of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie tie-in M&Ms, which were reported some time ago as part of the film's
food tie-in marketing strategy. The image is of interest mostly because it gives us a hint at what the "Twins" characters, one who transforms into a green Chevrolet Beat and another who turns into a red Chevrolet Trax, may look like.
The design elements of the red "Tracks" M&M resemble the small piece of concept art that was leaked some time ago and the design of the green "Beat" character (rumoured to be named Skids, based on the vehicle's license plate seen in spy photos from filming) matches the Trax robot (perceptive fans may notice the buck-teeth)
The bag is labelled "collector's pack 7 of 7" - meaning other bags of M&Ms probably sport other M&M-style movie characters.

TFCC Forums- Ready for more rumors involving those highly desired convention collector's figures?
Tuesday, we were teased with information about this set being mainly Autobot based...
"
OK, while we are working on finalizing the convention details, brochure and registration forms, we wanted to start the speculation game:
"For one young Autobot..." is all we have revealed so far. While we tend to guard the convention sets and souvenirs closely, I want to let you know that we are very excited about what we have waiting in the wings!
The set we have planned features a team of select Autobots never before featured in G1 in this way. The timeline we are spotlighting is new, yet very familiar...
Let the games begin!"
Now more news from thus same thread, this time
Pete Sinclair (who happens to participate in our very own
Official Question And Answers Thread for the club) adds his two cents...
"Far be it from me to wreck your all's ideas. I just know that this year's set is going to rule!"
Perhaps, you might want to start questioning Pete on our
Q/A pages for the club, to see if he might reveal something more.
Check out the official
Transformers Collector's Club!!!
Speculate based on this new information below.

Narc has found that Botcon has put up a new hotel update for their convention!
Our new hotel block is online at BotCon.com. You can now make reservations at the Pasadena Hilton for both double and King rooms. Our special rate is $141 a night and the hotel is 2.5 blocks from the Pasadena Convention Center (about a 5-8 minute walk).
Go to BotCon.com for the reservation link but don't wait! This hotel could sell out just like the Sheraton did!
More information coming in the next several weeks concerning packages, tours, admission, dealer booths and more!
Brian
This should be very useful for those that were unable to get reservations at the first hotel!
Please checkout
the Botcon site for more information.

Thanks to some friends of mine I was able to get my hands on the Universe Wave 4 Deluxe figures about a month or so before they hit the big three here in Canada. Much to my surprise and happiness the new figures are on unique cards with individual card art on the front and tri-lingual bio's on the back. This was hinted at by Hasbro Canada this past year at TFCon in Ontario.
Well who cares you might ask? Mexico, Quebec and the rest of Canada. That's who.
For almost two years we've been backed into a corner so to speak when it comes to our hobby of collecting Transformers. For all of you in the States or across the sea you get clean, character focused box and card art. The three mentioned above get very generic packaging and has slowly slipped down a slope of quality to the point of no images on the boxes other then cross-sells on the back as seen
here in an old news article from when Wave 1 was released in Canada.
Here are a few pictures, albeit blurry of two of the four new figures on their new tri-lingual packages. This is indeed a great treat for Transformers Collectors that keep figures MISB/MOSC or hold on to the boxes after opening the figures much like myself.
Here's to a great 2009 to our friends collecting Transformers with the new and improved packaging!
