Starting with Barricade, we have a nice look at the figure that utilizes some of the transformation tricks his MPM self had, and we also see that his chest is mostly real car parts in robot mode, with only the center moving out of the way to allow for the angry chest slant. He is also unique in that he is a Barricade figure that ends up with the hood as the outside piece of his back complete with a bumper-butt.
Up next, we have a nice look at Sideswipe, based on his Dark of the Moon form. The toy switches back to having the movie accurate rear end of the car become the chest (something the Dark of the Moon deluxe did not do), and he comes with a pair of blasters and a fair of detachable swords that peg into his hands. He is also the first Sideswipe figure to actually have the sides of his chest (the rear fenders and tail lights) slant in in a movie accurate style.

Found that review while Watching Barricades! Just added it to the story! Both look pretty decent. Will probably get both

I'm amazed at the rate these releases are coming at, really. Sometimes the wait between Generations figures feels like an age, yet these feel like a pretty steady beat.

I thought they were going for more of a high quality paint and scale standard for this Studio Series line. For the most part they're great, but when I see lacking qualities on the face especially, it bothers me. Like with Movie 1 Ratchet's face.
Was there supposed to be a quote in there?

Also at the start of the video during the vehicle size comparisons you can see the new Studio Series #32 2007 Movie Optimus Prime in his Truck mode. You can see that Optimus is much brighter than the original SS Optimus Prime and has some real nice silver paint. His gun also stores in the back, instead of on the side like an image once showed. The windows are also much more clear than the Rotf figure. You can see prime at 2:01

In other news, I don't remember if this was discussed on this thread yet or not, but since further proof of it's credibility just showed up today, I'm putting this here:
I feel like a lot of talk about the DotM Prime happened when this showed up, but I don't think anyone said anything about the Voyager listings. KSI Boss seems like he'd obviously be a Nitro Zeus repaint/retool, given the previous usage of that name/designation. The "Hero" has me curious though, since it's both super nondescript and comes out earlier than all the other SS figures on the list. What Movie Autobots have we yet to get that would be Voyager-class? This figure could be the missing Hasbro number 31 or 38 if their Takara and Hasbro release times are similar enough.

I think that's it. We got a good Hound in TLK and they seem to be grouping TLK figures into the line as representations for the 4th and 5th movie cast. So Sentinel really is the only Autobot I could think of.
Unless they are making a Canopy figure. But that would surprise me.
Most of the Autobot choices that could be made would be deluxe class: WWII Hot Rod, Jolt, the Wreckers, Mudflap and Skids, Que, and Dino.

Except we didn't get a good Hound during TLK. A reminder of what his TLK toy was like. Missing the upper back of his truck mode, most of the front of his truck mode is hanging wholesale to the backs of his legs, and there's no triple Gatling gun. The Movie The Best version fixed the third issue and somewhat fixed the first, but that was Takara only and it could be better. And they did an enhanced TLK Drift so why not a better TLK Hound?
Also, the Studio Series hasn't done Evasion-mode Optimus yet, or his AoE "Upgrade" body. And Evasin-mode Optimus needs a correct toy that's non-exclusive and available at US retail.

That AOE "Upgrade" body got a Voyager toy in TLK.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Also, the Studio Series hasn't done Evasion-mode Optimus yet, or his AoE "Upgrade" body.

Yes, but Studio Series toyline =/= TLK toyline. So a Studio Series toy of it, whether a new mold or (more likely) just a deco tweak of the existing one, is still a possible release. It's not a release I'm especially hopeful for, but it could happen. Best-case scenario if it did happen would be it having retooled forearms to actually match Optimus' Battle of Hong Kong-onward appearance. The TLK Voyager actually has the arms of the intermediate upgrade body from before he retrieved the Sword of Judgement.

Remember, it's this version of Optimus Prime that combines with the soon to be released Leader Class Jetfire.

Swipey, Barry and Boney all look great too. Gonna be spending a fair chunk of money start of 2019 it seems.

Bonecrusher is still a disappointment though. He already only comes up to the first SS Prime's belly, he's going to look even shorter next to the second version.

Do they not have them on reduced price anywhere there? I bought most of mine for typical RRP (and in a few cases more including Jazz and Lockdown at £30 each when the RRP is £23, just so I could have them a bit earlier) but The Entertainer here in the UK has been selling wave 1 and 2 Deluxes for about £16 each. Is how I got Stinger recently (and liked it way more than I thought I would).

The only one that I would be willing to pay for, but at 50% off, is SS Jazz. And he was just like a drop of water in a hot pan localy. And no way am I gonna pay full price nor ordering it online. I still feel the burn from that 55$ TLK Cogman (still available everywhere like roaches at 15$)

55 dollars? How did that happen? Mine didn't cost anywhere near that much and I got it early. :O
The Entertainer in Cambridge literally does have SS Jazz in for £16.80. They had at least two of them that I could see on the shelves (I was looking for Crowbar at that price but he's gone). They still have it on the website at https://www.thetoyshop.com/action-toys- ... 4611_E0745 but I guess that doesn't help you at all. Oh well, i hope you get lucky.

I talk in Canadian dollars but still. Cogman just refused to come out and he was rumored to be a rare "tail-line" figure. One that will barely appear in store before being gone forever. It happened a bit too often in the past. Because TLK Cogman was the only TLK deluxe I really cared about, I didn't took any chances and I ordered it from China. 55$CAN was the total price including shipping. It was the best price available back then.
Oh and before that, I was in an hurry to have the DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime. I imported it from the USA at almost 140$CAN with shipping. Then just 2 or 3 months later, the damn thing was priced 80$CAN plus taxes everywhere and he even went on clearance at 50$CAN.
Seriously, I'm done ordering ANY Movie figures online. Seem that I ALWAYS get screwed over every times that I do. Appart DOTM Guzzle, Movie figures always land in stores and always get dirt cheap eventually. Plus I know that I'll have another shot at Jazz because he'll be included in the next wave of SS deluxes. And even then, I'll wait for a sale.

I began to seriously collect at the HFTD times. So I din't knew about ROTF Lockdown. So he was a "drop of water in a hot pan" too? One more to the list.
What is frustrating is we can never know what will be the nest ephemeral store shelf transformers.

Some points have become standard like the knees, hips, elbows, shoulders and head, but other points like the feet and waist have not.

No it is not. Often, even if the same point of articulations are present, the kibble get in the way. This is important to point out.

I'm a bit disappointed that this WW2 bee is a TOTAL SHELLFORMER. He's comparable to AoE Galvatron or even Cybertron Thunderblast. Absolutely NO vehicle get carried over to the robot mode. Plus that color is plain and boring. It should have more dirt and battle damage painted on. Especially for a 30$ deluxe.
I still want it though, for the Legacy. Plus I'm sure Toyhax will come up with an interesting Reprolabels upgrade set.

I can testify firsthand to that, I can’t even find a broken version of that figure so I can just get his engine, and it feels like a wast to pay about double the original price when I still have the rest of him AND ratchet’ EMP for him

Alt modes scale pretty well, but bot modes put SS Lockdown at the kids' table:
