Greetings and happy Thursday fellow Seibertronians! The Transformers madness of 2019 continues and today we have a few Cyberverse sightings at US retail. Several reports have come in from various members of their local Targets stocking Mace Mash Gnaw, Sneak Strike Deadlock, and the cuddly carnivorous Saw Tooth Scraplet! Keep your eyes peeled (the Scraplet can probably help with a proper eye peeling) at your local Targets and happy hunting out there!
Check out the sighting images below and also the stock images of Drift: it's of note that Deadlock and Drift are different molds and not just remolds/retools/repaints of the other.
Make sure to share your retail wins and woes in the forum and stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

Also, the backwards compatibility between Siege and Cyberverse's armour gimmick is awesome. Goddamnit, I need some of those now.

I feel cross pollination with the blasted hooligan youth element bah! usually we expect these for our younger fans but the fun of this play pattern and the use of characters like Ratchet and Cheetor make it so darned appealing. I feel a little more inclined to get some of these than I did with the RID releases. I liked the last cartoon more but these toys are better.

The boat armor and figure are both of much higher quality than the bb version - please, for the love of primus avoid the bb figure, it is the actual worst
So if you want to dip a toe into the bigger figures, I'd say grab the cheetor at your nearest target that has it in stock

From Chuck:
"Deadlock is the name Drift used when he was a Decepticon, represented here in the Cyberverse line using a design that looks a little like Drift's Generations toy. Unfortunately, the weapon gimmick doesn't work as well as it should, like almost every other Warrior Class figure, and the plastic feels cheap in certain spots. Those issues aside I quite like the figure and think it's actually one of the better Warrior Class figures in the line."

I just saw the Ultimate in walmart again, still didn't get him. Too much going on this month. but i do hope to get him, it was a lot harder to leave him behind the 2nd time. That headsculpt and the sculpt in general is really nice and really colorful and pleasing

It;s the one toy to finaly give that good design justice. Also, as I hope you find out one day, the transformation design is very good. You'd think we'd seen it all with Grimlock so far but they find a way to keep it fresh.

I agree with this.
My walmart hasn't had Cyberverse for months, and doesn't appear to be stocking now. They only have the deluxes of Siege and SS, and the voyagers of Siege, that is it besides those stupid titan guardians (and there are a lot)

He seems like the kind of person who would have some mnemonically blocked file full of countermeasures to kill every single Cybertronian if ever the need arose.
The kind of guy who shows up to meetings on time only when it conveniences his purposes.
He’s busy with his own stuff but he’s part of a team.
Cold, calculating, looks great in dark colors, horns on his head.
Get this guy a cape and a childhood born vendetta against crime and you’ve got Cybertronian Batman aka Bruce Shockwayne.

Still think Ratchet will be the one from this size class I will pick up though, for now

first up, Sky Byte.
This guy is a fantastic little dude! The robot mode is really enjoyable and despite the lack of a head swivel, he poses as much as I would hope he could. The colors are really nice too, with some decent paint. The transformation is effective and the shark mode is awesome. I'm surprised at how good the shark mode is and how well it all works out, well done!
The drone is also cool. the drill bit fits over his fist, so you get a pretty awesome claw/drill double punch. And the dividing up of the drone works out really nice. I love it!
Overall, he is great. i didn't plan to get him, but I saw him at Target today and decided to give him a try, and he was much better than i thought he would be. I like him more than Cheetor. Gives me confidence in how much I will enjoy Ratchet.
And the other Cyberverse figure of the day: Grimlock. I saw him again today, and third times the charm. Wow is he awesome.
Given he is twice as much as Sky Byte, I am surprised at how much larger he is, and how it isn't the result of weak plastic or hollowness. He is pretty filled out, and he has really good posability too.
The robot mode is the strongest mode, and it kills. He is big and intimidating, has a great head, awesome arms, and that super stomp thing is really cool. The colors are sweet! Transformation is pretty different with the way the legs work and the dino mode is cool, though I wish the front had a bit more color breakup, but that's minor.
He is definitely worth the money. he is a better toy than the PotP Grimlock for sure, and they were both around the same price, and he is bigger.
He is good, get him if you can.
And with that, I have 3 Cyberverse figures. I'd say Cheetor is the weakest of the 3, but all 3 are pretty good, and a definite increase in quality and fun over the original cyberverse figures. Now to wait out Ratchet and the Scraplet!

I loved every minute of reading this. Very glad you got the figures and even more glad that you enjoyed them. It's really as you say it, what is so great about skybyte is that he actually works as well as one would hope for a toy that big (I really like how everything ends up in the back).
And for Grimlock, it's just how massive he looks at that price without him being simplified as other toys have been for that price. I am very glad you also appreciated the variation on the transformation scheme they gave him. That meant a lot to me, it means they werent phoning it in, even for a line that might not get as much attention.
When fans ridicule the line and say today's kids deserve better, this guy is a good counterargument.
Posted by Stargrave on August 26th, 2019 @ 12:42pm CDT
I mean with Cheetor and Sky Byte and Jetfire, the cleverness in these transformations despite the economy of cost/materials, it is all really impressive to me. The attention to the detail on this Grimlock’s face and how his action feature works is undeniably appealing and just plain cool.
If I wasn’t so obsessed with Siege and had more funds I’d grab these in a heartbeat. You guys have sold me on them. If you get bored with them I have a good forever home waiting for them

Oh man Will, these are the figures we have needed from this line from the beginning. Sky Byte is so good, and he is perfect for his size. A bigger figure with similar engineering would be good too! He is ridiculously fun.
and I wholly agree with Grimlock. He is massive, but not really simplified, and he is durable as hell. that is a solid $30 toy. He is frikkin fantastic.
And the best part? Since I got them Saturday, they have been the figures I keep playing with! The siege and selects figure have been secondary to how much fun these 2 are.

"From Hasbro Toy Group. Take on the galaxy with Transformers Cyberverse Warriors! Each 4 1/2-inch robot has a swell disguise based with awesome features and amazing alternate modes. Collect Optimus Prime, Shockwave, Drift, Jetfire, and Bumblebee!"
No word on Optimus being included in this wave but hey, he's always there in spirit, or spark, as the case (assortment) may be.

Mostly asking because I was thinking about grabbing Ratchet, but the figures are a bit on the small side and I'd rather not spend $15 on something that isn't that great of quality
It's the same quality as Ttans Return legends figures. A bit bigger than those. And the armour being 5$ extra means the pack's price is right on the mark.

A McDonald’s display in Taiwan revealed a new set of Transformers Cyberverse toys of Optimus Prime, Jetfire, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Prowl, Megatron, Starscream and Shockwave that are inspired by the Spark Armor gimmick. Each figure, like in the main line, comes with a little vehicle that can separate into parts that can be attached to the figure as weapons or armor. These toys do not transform, but the last fast food toys that actually did were way back in 2008, so there's no surprise here.
It is still unknown whether these toys will be offered in the US, but these figures have also been spotted in Peru, Japan, and India too.
Keep your scanners peeled for any more sightings, and always post your findings in the Sightings thread. As always, stay tuned with Seibertron.com for more updates.

So is this one any good? Well, you'll be the judge. Below are images of the toy at multiple angles. It comes with a Snowmobile which becomes armour.
For a quick review, the toy is mostly fine for the size (a tad bit bigger than scout) and while it has painted windows all across the alt mode, on all sides, there is some obvious deco missing from the robot mode. The EKG designs on the shoulders, for one. While those are painted on the renders, you'll see that the toy's final deco is very different to what we first saw. The other issue is the lack of a head rotation and bicep/thigh swivel. Though previous generations toys of this size class were also missing some of those articulation points, these are always fun to have. Skybyte is still the best in that regard due to his use of ball joints (a nice beast era homage it would seem).
Amazing car mode though, and a really nice and meaty Optimus Prime like transformation that I hope gets revisited in later Ratchet toys.
Below are images I took and a few video reviews (along with a review of his case mate Shockwave). Enjoy!

Man the lines geared at younger audiences have really evolved. I mean the fact that the armor even works in some capacities with the Siege line, brilliant. What a 'why not' kind of touch. If they put just a head rotation in there, maybe just a little more articulation I'd be more into these. Like 100% sold.
But I think more than any review or set of images what's stuck with me is when you compared them to the Legends scale from previous lines. When I looked at it that way I felt like I went well duh, and kind of let down my guard against the toys for younger fans stigma.
Thanks for the review!

These toys are advertised as being for kids 6 years and up. The Transformers Animated line was advertised as 5 years and up; at least the deluxes. There's a huge difference in quality between these Cyberverse toys and Animated. Our standards have fallen if we think these designs even remotely pass muster for a kids' line. Like Animated, they should strive to really entice adult collectors.
