I just hope this doesn't go the way of unplanned modern blockbuster trilogies though.
1-Experimental and who knew, AWESOME
2-More of the same with some new amusing element thrown in, still pretty good.
3-Realy lost focus and set off track as it felt the need to focus on that one new element from 2
Looking at you Spider-Man, 80's-90's Batman, RoboCop, and so on and so on.
Two years is plenty of time as realy it's longer than that, if you'll recall, sequils where greenlite before 1 even premered. If you don't think the creative staff is already continuing mullings from before even that, well...
As for an exact date, well set your calenders and well see if this is right when the date comes. Hell any longer and on a much greater level, the TF movie franchise would suffer much more than any party involved would be willing to cope with.
Thats when you have to wory about a drop in QC.

Don't hold your breath expecting to see Devastator anymore, at least not with that character name. Since they kept Brawl's name as Devastator in the DVD, that now means both Devy *and* Bonecrusher have already been spoken for and killed in the first movie.
I think it's a safe bet that *if* we do get a combiner in the sequel, it won't be the Constructicons.

Actually I'm more afraid of them trying to rush it to make sure they got it all in before that strike hits.Liege Evilmus wrote:People are afraid of this being rushed. 2 years is the normal turn around time for movies though.

No it wasn't. TF1 was announced to come out on July 4th, 2007, in July of 2005, then they moved UP the release date.
edit: I'm not going to delete my mistake since someone already quoted it, but to suffice things--You were right and I was wrong. I forgot about the earlier release dates because of how long they stuck with the July 4th one. Sorry.

Actually, it was pushed back. It was originally slated for a November 2006 date.

Forgot about the attempt for Summer 2006. Probably because they stuck with the July 4, 2007, release date for two full years. They should really never use "officially" until they know. I don't really consider this official either. Too much left to be done.

Hopefully Barry's alive, and an aircraft carrier character would cool.
Constructicons are probably out of the picture also, since Devastator would be missing an arm...

....sh*t. Well, there goes any hopes for a *real* Devastator......
But apparently we're getting Tidal Wave? Perhaps not all hope is lost.....

Or they could've come up with the idea that after repairing Bonecrusher, they make the rest of the constructicons, which each holds a fragment of "Devastator" from TF1.

Currently, it seems very likely that Bay will be directing. He still go the right of first refusal anyway.

And considering that they have the models of the surviving characters already done it saves them some time and allows them to focus on new characters, casting, and scripting. Having the human cast from the first two return will save time as well since they only would have to cast new characters and extras.
Anyway, can't wait and hope it's as good as the first.

you're so funny! I really hope it's not as 'good' as the first, and that they do spend more time, longer than a day would be nice, focusing on characters, casting, and scripting.

It's not rushed people, get it through your head.
Spider-man 2 came out 2 years after the first film, not only that, but it was a hundred thousand million times better than the first film.
Remember, they're probably telling us very little at this point. Designs, scripts and screenplays are probably already underway and will probably be finished very soon. The would begin filming in the spring of 2008, break for the strike (which probably won't last too long) and continue filming in the summer/fall of '08. Post production would last into 2009 with the film ready for the end of June.
