DAMN, I better stop dragging my feet on pre-ordering these three! Even with Slipstream's vestigial-vindblade-turbines, a glance at these color samples would make you think these were original molds intended for these characters all along!

It's interesting that they kept all of Arcee's weapon tooling for nightbird, yet it seems Windblade's sword's been removed from Slipstream. It also seems TFA blackarachnia's claw thingy's been removed as well.

Hey, the slipstream's better than the previous attempt. Ahem, there's a reason why part of Nemesis Maximo's signature exists.

360 degrees is a full circle, so you'd be back at the point where you started. I think you want to put yourself 180 degrees away from a petulant, unpleasable "fan", Fenrir. ;)

These figures do look amazing in living color. Slipstream's colors are absolutely gorgeous. Blackarachnia's coloring has sold me on this new remold as well. Nightbird looks a bit bland with all that gray, but that's they way she looked in the cartoon, so I can't fault Takara on that.

I LOVE this Blackarachnea, but I'm pissed. It likely means we won't see an original screen accurate mold. It's stunning, but not the one I wanted.

My thoughts exactly! If Takara knew Hasbro had one planned or in the works, they wouldnt have gone out of their way for this one.

I think the positive we can take away from this is that if we ever get a CHUG Tarantulas, him and BA will have different toolings on your Beastwars Reedun shelf. ;)

I... I love that blackarachnia. that is all I have to say. For a retool of the Animated mold, she's so amazingly close to her BW show model. Not *perfect* but damned *close*. As for Slipstream, again I feel like the main thing keeping me from buying her is her inherited balance issues. I really like her colored but she does me no good if she can't stand on her own two feet.

I am getting the feeling that nightbird is the weaker of the three. I dont care since I have no clue who the character is but looking at the pics, it seems she doesnt have a huge backpack and is instead a sleek ninja type character. Did they only use the arcee mold for the hips?

I know, hence my question. The character's design does not seem to work with the Arcee mold they chose aside from her hips so I am asking if the hips are the only reason the arcee mold was used.

He knew that, he asked which parts have been retooled. It can be quite drastic, to the point anything above the waist is new, like with RotF Cannon Bumblebee.

The character doesn't work perfectly with ANY mold, really, but she fits Arcee's profile the best. The original character wasn't a transformer at all and wouldn't have any vehicle kibble.

I am also asking why the arcee mold was chosen for the retool. It doesnt seem to work for Nightbird, given how the animation model doesnt have a giant backpack.

Yeah I know, it's kinda weird. I was exited about Slipstream and Blackarachnia, but Nightbird, ehh it's kinda awkward. :CROW:

I think it's because they can't justify making a non-transforming figure of Nightbird but want to give the fans something "close enough" for their g1 collection.

For lack of anything better. Nightbird and Arcee share the same overall profile, both being female-shaped in fiction. The only real difference is that Nightbird as a man-made non-transforming robot has no kibble, while Arcee has those shoulder piece from her car mode.
The line philosophy that every toy must be able to transform (look at Movie Scorponok) and the choice for the Arcee mold as explained above, basically forced Nightbird to sport kibble.
