TFSource Update: Pre-Orders For Masterpiece MP-01L Convoy - Final Edition

Takara sure likes to dawdle with these things, don't they? Ah well, cool for those who don't have them yet.

And you guys thought iGear was going to prevent Takara from making money on the MP-1 mold... I guess it's an homage to "The Return of Optimus Prime"

So this is the last time we will get him but it only comes with a sound box? However, considering how many times MP-01 has been rereleased, I am not sure if this will be the final time we see this toy. Even if they stop producing Optimus Prime, I doubt they will retire the mold. There is still a possible Perfect version of Ultra Magnus (with trailer) we all hope will make an appearance. I hope that this release will give a cryptic hint that Galvatron is coming to the MP line.

I was thinking that too. They give us the pretender to the throne (Rodimus) then release the true leader.

If Megatron's feet don't rust, he may be worth it IMO.

Unlikely they've fixed that though.

iGear are releasing a scaled megatron with a much more in proportion cannon, so thats the MP Megatron I'll be getting I already have 2, I'm scared to touch the one I have opened, nearly everyone has broke him in some way or another. I have a broken foot, one of the transforming flaps just broke. The worst I've heard is Megatron breaking completely in half, during transformation. The one and only time I did transform MP megatron I couldn't get his arms to line up to complete the transformation to gun, so he had a gap running above the trigger where the arms weren't colapsing and folding into there rightful place. Due to so many parts, it only takes one to be slightly out of place, maybe due to production, to then have a knock on effect.

I wish they scaraficed some of the gun asthetics, to pull off a more robust and solid solutions to panels etc. They done so well, A G1 megatron robot is what we want, I want an accurate Robot not accurate gun.

While an inscale Mp Megatron would be awesome, the Faith Leader figure is so much more fragile than MP Prime, I am scared the Megatron would just crumble into dust upon opening the box.

I totaly hear you on that one. That's why I won't even attempt to transform it, as long as I know it is capable of doing so, that's enough for me. As long as they pay attention to the main joints for posing, especialy ankles etc, then it should be a worth while purchase.

You have to be so careful what you say on here, someone always finds something wrong.. It was an expression of speach. And my response here is a perfect example, you may not of been responding to point out that I have used the word "everyone" way out of context. Your response may have just of been to say you are one of the lucky ones, and completely understand that due to the quantity of people who have broken megatron in someway or other, that I used the word "everyone" not in a factual way but in a more expressive way as to highlight what a wide spread problem it is.

My point is that when you write something it is hard to convey a tone of voice, and it is hard to reply straight away to explain what you meant, we all make mistakes and we all have trouble conveying what we mean, either due to other peoples interpretation or due to our own method at that moment we are writing our post, I'm sure we have all at some point wrote a post, and then later on been away from our computers and thought I wish I'd explained it in a different way. On our return some one has been lieing in wait just to pounce on our mistakes, and at the same time we look at that response and it may be purely innocent but we also make the mistake of interpreting it as an attack correcting us when it may be just a mistake of interpreting what they have said.

Now after some thought I beleive I probaly jumped the gun, but due to so many people ho have jumped the gun on my responses before you can't blame me. Some people get there kicks by trwaling threads looking for a post they can tear to shreads. I'm all for debating, but in future I think people should reconfirm what someone is saying if you deeply disagree with them. I clearly wrote "EVERYONE" although I didn't literaly mean that, I thought that would of been obvious. kirbenvost reply is just as ambiguos as mine. But it just goes to show that what may appear black and white maybe grey, and the internet is a global phenomenom, so even though everything here is written in English, we all use it in different ways. But even thoughs who are in the same enviroment can get it wrong, you only have to text a girl, and have it misunderstood to see how dangerous wording can be without tonal expression. I think texting and being forced to limit our words in a message has played a major role, as I spell in a breviations when I don't have too. I'm the first to admit I'm lazy when it comes to spell checking, and I have been judged for it.

All I'm saying is there are alot of worth while debates to be had, but lets make sure that we all know what we are debating over, I beleive there are to many people on here who use forums to vent there anger on people, maybe they are being bullied themselves in real life, so I'm not gonna start having a pop on them, after all we are all here because we love the same thing right! lets not ruin it.

MP Megatron is annoying. He's a rare case in that he's an official figure that is too big and fragile and I don't like the sound of these rumours that he rusts easily too.
If there was an official release which was a scaled down version then i would jump all over it but third party products whilst fantastically designed, are lacking in quality (I find the plastic too light/fragil and am too scared that they'll break)

Unlike Optimus who's Masterpiece is his best ever figure. I just pre-ordered mine here in Japan for $90 - can't wait until next March - he's going to get delivered in the same week as my birthday

I totaly here where your coming from, but even Takara's quality control hasn't been great recently. Fansproject are always on point, iGears Mini mp Convoy is just amazing, And the problems they did have was due to pushing what is possible, not bcuase of poor production, as the revamped hands with full articulation were are hard feat to pull off, obviously to hard, but full props for trying. ANd at least they adress there problems and evolve the design.

I suppose it IS the least they could do, since they stole the intellectual property, engineering, design...

I guess I did take your post too literally. Well, I haven't transformed my Megatron in a long time, but I always try to be very careful as well. As for the 'rust', it's more like tarnish as it's easily removeable, but it's still annoying that it happens at all. I still think he's worth owning.

How do you remove the tarnish. Mine came with tarnish never saw them in there supposed chrome finish, and I got mines as soon as it was released. Also the feet are brittle as one foot is broken, not in a place that it is unsuable as a foot, but bad enough that it has to be recorrected everytime it's reposed.

I already own both, but it's cool they're being rereleased for others to get. My MP Megatron has not been transformed yet and never will.

I've got me one of these MP-01L's on preorder. I do hope I like him, I've never had a Masterpiece before. I'm thinking he's actually too big for my liking. The IGear mini MP is a very decent size. I just can't get past paying so much for him and his size, and also essentially condoning his design theft.

Well the feet aren't exactly a bright chrome color to begin with, they are a bit of a darker silver color, IIRC. But the tarnish actually comes off quite easily, you can even rub it off with just your finger. A soft cloth could work too, or even some of that tarnish-removing liquid they sell for use with jewelry and silverware.

I'll get Megatron MP, only if TTomy fix the rust problem!
