eBay seller Paranooid has posted an auction for an all-new Target exclusive. It looks like this 2 pack follows the trend of the Star Wars Evolution repackagings that feature a previous version of a particular character and at least one revised version. The Target exclusive "Evolution of a Hero" Bumblebee set includes the classic Camaro version as well as the concept Camaro with a "battle damaged" paint scheme. You can check out the auction at eBay.com

Hm. Will that get rid of the "dirt" on classic Camaro Bumblebee? I already own 3 of that mold (the original Hasbro version, the clear window Takara version and the 2 pack of Bumblebee and Barricade from Walmart. I wouldn't mind one more to get rid of the "dirt" on it.

Fender Bender wrote:Hmm, I think I may get this. Unfortunately, I already have the old Camaro. Perhaps I should get this and the Bumblebee/Prime 2 pack and swap the old Bumblebee from this pack with the new one of that pack and return the Prime set since it would have two figures in it that I already have.
Dude, are you kidding me? Don't do that sh*t, that's shady as hell.

You think? I love the battle damage, you could recreate Bumblebee's heroic final battle! Sure it doesn't look so good in vehicle mode, but I'm sure the battle-damaged bot mode will be great...

Yeah, it works wonders. You just have to be carefull because if you dig in too hard, the bottom layer of paint comes up too. I used this method on Starscream when I did his panel lines and removed much of his dirt.

Guys, just a bit curious how things work in the States. In a few posts in different contexts I read posters talk about returning their figures for whatever reason.
Is it allowed in the States to return toys because you're aren't satisfied or whatever? Where I'm from and I think most of South East Asia, the seller has an oligation to change defective products within x number of days. Other than that, they'd probably laugh at you if you tried to return products for other reasons. You made your choice, you live with it, especially if you bought from those arrogant hobby stores.

Well, it's either that, or buy both and then try to sell the extras.

I feel like it's just gauging fans, like the Starscream and Vector Prime two pack from Energon.
"Here's a cool exclusive figure/repaint, but you can only get him with the purchase of this other figure that you probably picked up months ago".
Jerks.

Its a two sided issue.
Buy from a local store here and it is virtually the same as it is in your situation. If the product is not defective, no return, however...
We have many large faceless corporations here (Target, WalMart, ToysRus, etc). The thing they want least in the world is a complaining customer. Bitch, and ye shall receive. These companies consider it easier to return your item, charge the distributer, and call it a day than to deal with you making a scene in the store or telling other people bad things about the store.

Wow... I always thought that we get that kind of crap only here in Asia: complaining a-hole customers taking advantage of companies by playing on company penchants for customer butt kissing. Looks like it's everywhere!

I don't necessarily agree with that, quite often my wife and I will be looking over home decorations at Target and we'll be having trouble deciding between two items, or maybe we're unsure if it'll match our decor. So we buy both, and then return the one that didn't match. I don't see anything wrong with that, we're always very careful to not remove any tags or damage the packaging, that way they can put it right back on the shelf.
However, what Fender Bender was talking about is a very despicable act. He said he wanted to buy the Optimus/'08 BB two-pack, and the '74 BB/'08 BB two pack, take the '74 BB and put it in the Optimus/BB two pack and return it, that way he can get the Battle Damaged '08 BB, and the normal '08 BB without having to keep the '74 BB. That's shitty, REAL shitty.

And yes figure swappers suck. I collect another line (Star Wars) and we deal with asshole figure swappers too. Cheap ass bitches.

upther wrote:Walmart is a lot easier to rip off on returns than Target is. Target requires a receipt or they won't even give you store credit. Makes it nearly impossible to give gifts from that store. Walmart on the other hand will take almost anything back, receipt or not. It gets even easier if you hit up a 24 hour Walmart late at night.
If you use a credit card to buy at Target they can look up any purchase made on it in the last 90 days and match it to the UPC off the box. You don't need a reciept. Meijer however NEEDS a receipt.

I know that there are not Targets everywhere, but I for one am glad that this is a Target exclusive and not Wal-mart. I have never been able to find any exclusives at my closest Walmart.
On the other hand, I will definitely be getting this to keep MOC.
