It's supposed to be a CH-53E Super Stallion, not a MH-53M Pave Low IV (which is Blackout)!
For anyone who isn't familiar, the Stallion doesn't have the front attachments beneath the cockpit, like the Pave Low has (picky, I know, but if they could tweak it a little, like the head, I might actually get him).
Also, why can't Grindor's back end be remolded to more accurately resemble the helicopter? He doesn't have Scorponok as his counterpart!

Because Hasbro saves money by doing a redeco instead of a new mold.

Besides, the kids could care less. As long as it's a helicopter.

Yes, unfortunately I know that...Hence the many repaints. It may save money, but I have accused Hasbro of laziness about stuff like this, before (you should see all the e-mails of complaint I've sent to them! I think only once, or twice, have I got through to them).
Then again, look at the flip-side, they did slightly different moulds of parts for Bumblebee. Yes, it'll be because he's the more popular character, but it's the principle I'm talking about.

I don't know anything about helicopters but I'm glad you pointed that out. I have an extra Blackout that I may repaint into Grindor. I'll have to look at this carefully.

Best way to see the differences is to look at wikipedia pages:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MH-53_Pave_Low
(Blackout)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CH-53E_Super_Stallion
(Grindor)
Ain't *too* much difference but they are there!

And that's exactly why Hasbro didn't modify the mold for this.
