Robot Kingdom now has preorders for two new platinum sets:

Platinum Series "Year of the Monkey" Exclusive Air Attack Optimus Primal.
119.90$ Start Shipping on 1st October 2015.

Movie 4 Platinum Edition Generation Dinobot 5 Pack G1 Colour.
109.90$ Available on 1st October 2015

It should be kept in mind that Robot Kingdom's prices will be a close, but not necessarily a 100% accurate, portrayal of MSRP on those.

However, these prices tell us that the Dinobot 5 Pack will be the same price or less than the Platinum Autobot Unite 5 Pack or the Platinum Movie Dinobot 5 Pack of last year. We also know that Optimus Primal will be priced between the 2 Year of the Goat released as he is more expensive than G2 Prime but less than MP Soundwave.

We also now have new stock images of the Platinum (G1 deco) Dinobot 5 pack which have been mirrored below.

Well that means the Air Attack Primal will probably be over $200 in Canada :-? That'd definitely be a no.
Those Dinobots on the other hand look pretty good. I wouldn't have used the same color layouts, but something tells me these will be the only classics Dinobots we'll get for a long time ;)
I also wonder how possible it is to switch AOE and This Swoop's torsos out. I prefer toon colors on Swoop

Who's the genius who came up with that pricing on Primal? I can imagine it might do alright at $50, but $110? That's just moronic.

I'm not familiar with the mold of Primal, but it sure doesn't seem worth it at that price point.

It's absolutely not worth that much. That toy originally came out in 2002 as a TRU exclusive and was a whopping $30.

If I saw that on the shelf for the £80 the exchange rate might have us expect to be the UK price, or less, I would buy it. If it were to come here though, recent pricing suggests TRU would have it at at least £120.

its an ok figure dont know how much he was when series first came out in ape mode he goes up to mp prime chest, with electronics, and one disk fire from his chest, with light up features and voice clips from show if they did not take them out of this version.

but buying online forget to add taxes, and shipping handling to checkout price still expensive but buying him in store will be cheaper than to add shipping and handling and tax to order online recipet

Oh I'd bet money this version will be gutted of any and all electronics. It wouldn't shock me if the disc launcher is gutted too.

I thought we made it clear to never speak of that thing again.
And though the set doesn't come with all the figures to do it you *kind of* can make a Dinobot combiner from the AoE Dinobots:

That's pretty awesome! Too bad it requires so much external supporting.

It may have just gone up although it could also have been up for a while but UK based online Transformer trader Kapow Toys have their pre-order up for the Transformers Platinum Generations Dinobots 5 Pack in G1 colours for £109.99 with free UK delivery.

http://www.kapowtoys.co.uk/transformers-platinum-g1-dinobots-set.html

Unless a set of Toyworld dinosaurs fall in my lap this G1-headed set could well become my Neo-Classics Dinobots! :D

There was another, slightly blurry, image of it that had no support but since this was the clearest it's the one I used. I would try to come up with something with the guys it gives you in this new boxset but I never got the voyager Grimlock during AoE. Kind of looking forward to messing with him for the first time!

As far as I can tell, there are no A1 Toys stores in North America, and the sole Forbidden Planet store located in North America is in New York. Neither is ubiquitous outside of the UK and Ireland.

'cause the idjots at Hasbro miscalculated the nostalgia trumping over practicality. Despite Asia/China being gaga over G1, you can only push the price so much before you reach the "I no buy this"

Example, Platinum Laser Optimus Prime. Expensive sheeet! I'd buy it in an instant if he came in default colors. Black and gold? Wtfrack?!

It was just something inferred through logic by a fan. They showed both the Blaster and PREceptor set at SDCC (or was it Botcon, I forget) and said they were both releasing end of august. August came, the Autobot Intel set showed up but Trypticon didnt. Hence, their planning and scheduling was correct but it is lacking one of the two sets. Ergo, there must be some kind of distribution conflict happening somewhere. It could be customs due to this being a higher priced collectable than Target ever had of this kind. We dont know, but it is odd that one set made it and the other didnt.

The Snakas blog has gathered up some in hand images from TFND of the two Dinobots Grimlock and Slog, which are part of the upcoming Platinum Edition Generations Dinobots set. They compare these two to their other toys, giving you an idea of how well they may fare in a specific collection. I have also included an image of their SDCC 2014 counterparts for comparisons.

That was released...ages ago. Before Thrilling 30 ages ago. Looks like the price on it is finally something reasonable at least.

Shockingly, G1 Sixshot didn't sell well for $200+

I paid the $185 :HEADHURTS:

That same feel when I paid 230$+ for MP-11.
:BANG_HEAD:

The irony is, you can get a loose but complete and perfect mint looking G1 6shot for less than 100$ shipped. That's the price I paid and that's the price I sold it when I realised I didnt liked him.

They are priced at 109 on Robot Kingdom, not bad for 2 voyagers and 3 deluxes: http://www.robotkingdom.com/a91850000g1.html. And with the SDCC vesions already being available, I dont see that much demand for these, so a slightly lower price will be inevitable.

Also, while I spy some small differences on Grimlock (besides the head of course), the deco on both slogs appear to be the same.

The lack of the additional paint apps/stickers on his shoulders and legs? Yeah, less value for our money; not missing the apparent chromed-out crotch though

But I gotta say, I always imagined Grimlock would look the way he did in aoe, I was impressed 8-)

You didnt like him? I was close to buying that edition above for 100$ at comiccon this year but stopped when I realized he was selling for less on e-bay. I was still curious though, care to tell me (either here or in a pm), what you didnt like of sixshot?

Appart for G1 Galvatron (because I care too much for the character), I love my G1 toys to have realistic vehicle altmodes. Insecticons and dinobots excluded, of course. Sixshot is just... too many random things thrown together. It's a very solid toy and it's fun to fiddle with. I would highly recomend him. However, it didnt pleased me as much as I tought it would and I knew I would be able to easely sell him back. Also, there was some other TFs that need funding.

Will, if you don't care about yellowing or missing guns, you should buy 6shot. You'll have fun with it for sure.

I actually love these. I hadn't seen the heads close up before so I assumed it was just normal G1-looking head stuck on AoE bodies but the heads appear to be a hybrid (Slog's certainly is) and those pictures are stunning. I wish Grimlock came with all those other-Grimlock weapons though.

These things are so hideous..... Pure laziness on Hasbros part. Thank god for the third party market.

I wish we would have gotten the other 4 Dinos in the FoC line instead of these. The movie molds are turds.
