And looks like Huffer can pull Prime's trailer after all. I'll be getting Huffer and Inferno for sure, and maybe Dinobot as well (but those raptor hands ). Airazor looks very screen accurate.
I don't know why they can't transform Magnus properly for production shots if they could do it for these new action shots. Weird.
Overall, wave 2 looks to be a lot of fun. When is The Ark coming?

Ractonite... ups and downs haha I like the beast mode
Inferno is pretty cool, I had no intentions of getting him but I like the ladder and the hose
Everyone asking about Huffer finally has their answer lol

Dinobot...
If a figure design from 1996 had the sense to bend his legs in on themselves at the knee to streamline the Beast Mode. How does a figure from 2020 botch that?
This is Masterpiece Blackarachnia all over again. I've even read those defending it in the last few pages. Just like BA... Sigh
The original Dinobot being streamlined is... very debatable. We'll have to wait until we see it in hand, but it seems like the legs hide better in the Kingdom one, as the raptor's body seems to have space carved out for them go into. Which is unsurprising, as the legs are just there in your face in the original one, just resting there against a flat surface.
I say this as someone with an immense nostalgic attachment to the mold, as Beast Wars Grimlock was my one of my first and favourite transformers, but: It's hard to find a worse way to deal with the robot legs than the one used in the original Beast Wars Dinobot.
Agreed. I think it's also a stretch to compare it to MP Blackarachnia. The raptor has undercarriage kibble, sure, but that's a lot better than just squashing the robot into the rough shape of a apider.

The only mistransformation is failing to flip the codpiece around in armored robot mode.Overcracker wrote:Magnus is very mistransformed. It's been changed so that the cab sticks out more, in an attempt to make him look less like RiD and more like G1. It may still be possible to connect it like the SIEGE version was, but the way it's shown is a deliberate change.Overcracker wrote:The trailer should peg in a bit further forward, to cover his inner robot arms and hands. His trailer should start over his shoulders (the red part), not back by his legs. The SIEGE ones are equally G1, these just look more like the animation model (which had a flat, smooth right shoulder so they could put a faction symbol on it, and a dumbed-down version of the toy detailing on the left shoulder) than the toy.Overcracker wrote:Also his shoulder pieces look retooled from Siege/Netflix to be flatter and more G1They didn't remove the frontmost panel; they replaced the frontmost and rearmost panels with new ones that have representations of the G1 toy's trailer pillars.Overcracker wrote:And it looks like his trailer panels have been retooled to removing one hinge and the front most panel. Not sure why they would do that.
Nor did they remove a hinge - it's just set up slightly differently because the upper deck taillights are now part of the white shin/inner calf pieces instead of being part of the trailer side panels. For the most part, he already is. Aside from the failure to collapse the inner robot chest inward in one shot, and the failure to turn his codpiece around.Overcracker wrote:Magnus should look much better when he is properly put together in all of his modes. No, but that's not the case here. The stock photo, the back of box photo, and the actual drawn art show it like that.Overcracker wrote:blackeyedprime wrote:Overcracker wrote:
The trailer should peg in a bit further forward, to cover his inner robot arms and hands.
Back of the box art shows the trailer to be that way so it is how it has meant to be attached
And the back of the box has never been wrong? No, that's where it attached on the SIEGE version. Like I said, he's been reworked in an effort to make him look more G1. Part of that is that the shoulder pylons, to which the cab attaches, are now connected to the forward-middle trailer panels.Overcracker wrote:Nope, its definitely wrong. The red back panel attaches over the shoulders and around the smokestacks. What you can actually make out is the forearm covers, pegged in exactly where they should be. The chest is pegged in exactly where it's supposed to be. If anything, the blue part projects downward a bit more, but that's because it's been changed to be slightly more like MP-22 than a flattened version of the G1 toy.Overcracker wrote:You can just make out the chest piece dipping down into the trailer when it should be straight when correctly transformed and pegged into the trailer side panels and the top of the shin panels.Oh really?Overcracker wrote:The picture on the back of the box is clearly missing the shoulder pylons that attach underneath the trailer and onto the inner robot's lower leg peg.
Take a close look by the cab's rear wheels. Take a good, hard look. Gee, that blue boxy thing with a narrower white boxy thing protruding from it sure looks an awful lot like a shoulder pylon! No, I'm afraid that would be you. You are the one who is incredibly wrong. You're so wrong about this you remind me of me circa 2011-12 on certain forums...Overcracker wrote:The back of the box in this case is incredibly wrong.Perhaps because it doesn't slide up particularly well, at least in my experience.Jeddostotle7 wrote:why does everyone seem to forget the "butt" bumper slides up to be a backpack on Siege Magnus, and thus also will on Kingdom Magnus, especially given that's what the back of the box shows is true for the latter
After careful study of the images, I will concede you are indeed correct.
The pylons are there, but given the new position of the trailer no longer peg into the back of the trailer, which leaves that area open.
The hinge I mistakenly thought was missing is still there, but has been made to look like there is no hinge from the side though the pin can still be seen from the top barely and this panel now has the slots for the side clip to go into.
The pylons appear to still clip onto the same tab between the inner robot ankles which makes it impossible for them to reach the clips on the back now since the trailer is now moved further back. This leaves that empty space there I was seeing.
Basically the red part that clips into the inner robot's spine now only tabs onto the retooled side panels.
The rear panels have been retooled yes to make them look more G1.
I still contest the panel that flips onto the armored chest piece is not correctly tabbed into the back of the trailer however in the actual figure pictures, no way to tell on the image of the back of the box however due to the angle. The panel should still be flat, not angled down and then up.
Not sure the end result accomplished much other than just exposing the robot fists more.
Does not manage to look in any way better.
I may just get it to play around with the original Seige / Netflix trailer on this Magnus and see what looks better.

I am not worthy of your reply (begins to bow down like Wayne/Garth) but I am honored haha

Looking at some of the images it looks like the raptor hands fold into his torso and are visible from the sides, so I guess that's part of what led to them looking so weird. A remold would be nice, or maybe an upgrade kit but im not sure what else would come in one other than better hands lol

I stand corrected, lol
Come to think of it some blast effects for his eyes to look like laser vision would be cool too
And maybe the golden disk as well
I dont think its incorporated into the kingdom figure, but I wish he could alternate insignias like cc jetfire. That was one of the few things I liked about the universe/Henkei mold

Haha sorry I had to say something, I've been following this website since I was 8-9 years old and first getting into collecting transformers. It should only be a matter of minor retooling of the cab, where for Pipes it can slide down onto his back and shoulders instead of staying in hoodie mode.Seibertron wrote:ScottyP wrote:Huffer looks incredible! So glad he can pull the trailer.

And Sabrblade, I agree that Magnus's cab looks very plain up front and a red bumper would not only be accurate but would liven it up a bit. If I had my way, he'd have a huge chrome grille guard on there, even if it wasn't accurate.

Its been about 13 years since then and just wanted to express appreciation! These discussion forums are great
That means a lot to me to hear. It's amazing how this site has impacted so many people in so many ways over the years. Hard to believe I was just a tad bit older than you when I started this website back in 2000. My how time flies!
All of this talk about Beast Wars makes me want to get back into doing Beast Wars galleries again soon.
But Razorbeast88 is right, this is really what you advertise it as, the ultimate Transformers resource. (I wish you had the TF:TM screen caps back, though.)
Back to Kingdom, have you heard anything regarding reveals of The Ark titan?

I really want screen caps back. Gotta figure out how to get those up at some point again. It's a tedious process to go through each episode. One day!

Cores: I'm still not interested in the Cores that are just G1 guys but small, so these two aren't for me, but that Megatron still looks impressive to me despite that, considering them working the pistol in and still getting a fully rotating turret via transformation on a $10 figure.
Arcee: Not worth discussing.
Ractonite: The hands are...certainly weird, at least without his drill-lance-tail, but he looks like an absolute unit and his head is still reminiscent of the Witch-king of Angmar, and that alt mode is badass, so yes please.
Huffer: Not a character that interests me, but a solid looking figure, I look forwards to seeing the Pipes version later though. The way his gun partsforms to make the edges of the truck bed is pretty cool.
Inferno: Looks like I was right about the hoses, but was the thing I though was a blast effect just a second small gun the entire time? That's a bit disappointing if so...but I'm still on-board for an Artfire from this, just not interested as is (this is NOT the Inferno I'm looking for).
Also, I didn't catch this yesterday, but the price on these Deluxes is back to the current retail price rather than that $3 price increase the Wave 1 Deluxes have, and these are supposed to be out in April when Wave 1 is listed by Hasbro as coming out in February-March, curious to see just which dates and pricing will end up prevailing here...

I thought the very same thing regarding that fist.
Rodimus Prime wrote:Overall, wave 2 looks to be a lot of fun. When is The Ark coming?
Not before mid summer 2021
o.supreme wrote:Lastly...Magnus not having an earth mode trailer=FAIL.
How is that trailer not an earth mode trailer? It looks like the scaffolding of real trailers, more so than the G1 toy did (which, like all movie vehicle modes, wasn't based on anything real)
Seibertron wrote:Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the raptor hands on Dinobot look "off" to put it politely. Is it too late to remold the hands? The artwork got it right, but the toy itself looks like he's got broken wrists or something with his hands hanging oddly and not very threatening.
I too wish they changed it, it's a pretty big flaw, I wonder why no one would think twice about it during production.
Seibertron wrote:All of this talk about Beast Wars makes me want to get back into doing Beast Wars galleries again soon.
Speaking of which, the gallery I spent most time on when I was younger was the Optimal Optimus gallery. I wanted to make sure I had all the modes right.
As for these reveals here are my thoughts:
Huffer is the stand out and I don't even know the character that well. He just looks great in both modes and has the functionality that fans care about.
I don't get the excitement for the core class figures revealed here. That Megatron is an eye sore in both modes with some really bad kibble (compared to the artwork, it's pretty laughable). What makes the least sense to me is how they already achieved a decent Megatron of that same size class before. Same goes with Starscream.
I was excited for Ractonite but his hands leave me really dissapointed.
Really like Airrazor and I will buy Dinobot regardless, he has his pros and cons.

@Will which small scale megs do you mean?
Now repacking Arcee, two thoughts occur:
1) Hasbro thought that her Earthrise release would be scarce so sought to remedy it.
Or
2) hasbro wanted Arcee to be on the shelves the same time as the Studio Series 86 figures...Same as why Ultra Magnus earth mode is here.

For Arcee, I think it's both. And she is scarce in a way since many are still reporting that they havent seen wave 2 and a lot of that stock has not gone to the wider retailers.
As for the smaller Megatron, here's the one:
I mean, just look at that tank mode compared to this:
It gave a very sleek bot mode by comparison to the one we have now with that ridiculous kibble in the back (looks shellformer esque).
We never did get it in a good G1 colour scheme aside from the very silver deco from Takara
For comparison:

On the fence with Starscream despite me being a Seeker junkie. If I see him in stores, sure why not. But I’m not going to go out of my way to get him.
Inferno and Huffer are good looking as expected, glad I didn’t bite for the low-effort retools of Legends Optimus and Hot Spot.
Ractonite... meh. Like I can take or leave it but like Starscream I’m not going to go out of my way for it.
Did... did they really just describe Arcee’s alt mode as an Earth sports car???

Huffer looks machine robo good! Def a buy though the earthrise trailer still ooks way too small with him let alone Prime.
Infernos grey parts need to go for a dip in white paint, I'll probably pick him up as I never got the classics version.
Doesnt look like the fossiliser has any secret weapon to pair up with another bots that might be missing a thing or two so I'll pass on it.

The Siege version takes the front bumper and slides it up to make more of a backpack. The way this one looks in the pix, it's forming more of a...big buttocks...
I can't be the only one who's seeing that right?

Magnus still looks disappointing, but I may get it since I'm getting all the other movie guys in this line. Airazor does look great. But there's just no more room, so the Beast Wars guy may not make the cut for me. But I really like what they're doing with all of them.

Yes, there's a mistransformation in pretty much all of the Magnus pics between what you just said, the crotchplate, and some of the armor being missing from the trailer.Bone Age wrote:I'm sure at this point this Q has already been answered but, is the "unarmored" Magnus mis-transformed?

Uggh dang it when do we got some accurate pix then? Guess we'll just have to wait.

Don't be shocked. A lot of those late G1 cars were based on concept designs like Hot Rod.

I believe TT reps said it was dead in the water until further notice
