The newsest editions to the Masterpiece line are finally making it into the hands of collectors worldwide! Maybe though, you're still on the fence about these new figures. Maybe your fingers are hovering over the buy button but can't quite commit. Maybe, just maybe, a review of these two figures from fellow Seibertron user, and YouTube toy reviewer, Chuckdawg1999, will change your mind!
Let's see what he thinks of this pair:
chuckdawg1999 wrote:The Honda City mold is the BEST Masterpiece figure I've handled in a long, long time. I haven't enjoyed transforming a figure this much since Masterpiece Bumblebee 1.0. If I have to pick one to recommend, Skids is part of the G1 cast so it's a necessity for a Masterpiece shelf. Then again both are very affordable so if you can, both are great additions to any collection.
Has his words swayed you to buy one or both of these figures? Do you already have them?

Indeed. Oh yeah indeed.

Still being amused by the fact that we're likely to see Screech, and an RotF Skids-colors redeco of this Skids.

I have bought all three current Hondas and will happily buy any more iterations of this mold. It's that good. I hope more "proper" MPs are released in the future.
Btw, if possible, could someone take a comparison photo between the official version and one of the 3P versions (especially the police car version) please?
Oh, and it's great to see another HONEST YouTuber and welcomed member of the TF community's video reviews. Long may this continue.

This is very much in line with how I see the MP line. We need to get away from the smooth, boring cartoon versions of these characters and get em closer to the toy releases or a blend of the two. The lack of detail and the rounded off fingers in particular wind me up something rotten.
Skids is the first MP I've wanted in ages. Why? Because he has the appropriate amount of detail!

I too, vote for MPs to go old school like Skids and his bros did.
Want a 100% cartoon accurate figure? Easy. Get a non-transformable action figure.

I've always preferred the older approach, but sadly, unless Skids is a massive seller (I hope he is and the right lessons are learned) Takara will see more money from the cartoon accurate range.
Though I have a feeling that MP Skyfire will only ever be cartoon accurate

Sure, that can't be helped! Thing is though, as the Siege showed us, even animation versions of a character can be dripping in detail.

Moreover, a MP Jetfire can't ever, ever be "toy accurate" for © reasons.

Well, yes. I figured my "Sure, that can't be helped!" kinda covered that. Then again, not everyone has been in the hobby as long as I so maybe shoulda clarified.

The 86 figures are also super detailed, (owning Scourge, I know this.). What do you mean by detailing in this instance? The horrendous "battle damage" paint apps? If so, fair enough. I'm simply meaning moulded in detail.

Another Diaclone-based redeco with a new headsculpt. She keeps the name originated by BotCon 2015, with the "Dia" part having been the name of the mech's pilot in the BotCon 2015 comic story.

At least there's that. Too bad that it will be more expensive at those sellers than if it would be at Amazon.jp.
Also, "her"?
Is that in fashion to take random bots that are clearly male looking and deciding they are female?
JFC.

It's been established for a while now that Burnout is female, it's the same with the Velocitron figure. This figure even has a new head sculpt that could pass for female.

There's no defined body type for these robots, and yeah Burnout has been a her since Botcon introducing her in their fiction, it's not new.

MP Road Rage did get new parts to make her look more feminine, but that's more exception than the rule: other Road Rage toys retained the base Tracks body.

They could have done it with that release but MP Skids compress so much in his car that I dont think new parts would have been really possible.

A bit baffling that X-Cut cones with the bike, but no little "hologram" dude. It's the only flaw of this set.
