Why bother making a Buzz TF if he isn't gonna look like a TF character like Mickey and Donald did? It might as well be just some random Disney toy instead of a Disney Label TF.

I totally agree! It will be odd, though, that they have wing components in bot mode but whatever, I think they look very promising even in the form of low quality B&W concept art.

I dont get why Buzz doesnt resemble a TF character, thought that was the point of the line. Otherwise its just a rip of line of Transforming robots that has nothing to do with the Transformers brand. Having said that I do like the idea of Buzz's alt mode being his packaging.

Sabrblade wrote:Uh, why does Buzz not resemble anyone? Mickey looked like Prime, Donald looked like BB (and Herbie), but Buzz looks more like either his ship packaging he came in as seen in the movie, or the smaller escape ship that detaches from a Star Command star cruiser as seen in the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command cartoon.

Agreed with you and I thought they were going to do Goofy or something..
As for the seekers they looks real promising, gonna get the White one cause I prefer SS but if the purple Alt mode is better maybe I get him instead.

I don't collect Alternity, but that starscream looks neat too.

I was hoping they'd have wings. I'm also hoping they have thrusters in bot mode. The bots are looking nice n sleek!

Hey, maybe the wings can be deployed in alt mode like G1 Tracks.

Alternity is definitely not my cup of tea, but the Seeker car modes look great, just hope the bot modes are just as good to warrant paying 50 bucks for a deluxe sized figure.
As for Buzz, looks like you just lay him face down and he's transformed. Not good. With that said, for those that wanted Buzz to look like a TF character, well any suggestions on who he can impersonate?
I'd say the only thing that comes to mind is Cosmos's alt mode.
Posted by Blurrz on January 18th, 2010 @ 12:53pm CST
Dunno what's going on with Buzz.
...DL Cheetor looks nice, but is it worth the price?
Posted by UltraPrimal on January 18th, 2010 @ 1:11pm CST
Buzz has to be the simplest Tranformer ever. It looks like you just lay him down and that's his altmode.
Cheetor looks very cute with his little black socks.
And can't wait for Blaster! Hopefully they don't cancel him again.

Why do the seekers transform into cars instead of planes ???
And cant we get a Blaster that transforms into a cool alt mode instead of some geeky 2 for 1 computer gadget ???

Blurrz wrote:I'm sensing that the Orochi Alternity mold is either going to be amazing or just plain suck. I hope it's the former.
Funny, I was going to say the same thing the other day when they were announced. They'll either be totally awesome or totally awful IMO. That alt mode could be relatively unforgiving when it comes to engineering a figure.
Posted by Screamfleet on January 18th, 2010 @ 2:16pm CST
I dont agree with people that he should have had an alt mode resembling another transformer. That would have been neat, but I think those people missed the point if they think he's pointless without it.

The same reason Alternity Convoy and Megatron transform into cars; it's the theme of the line.

I think a laptop is the most relevant upgrade for Blaster's altmode.

Well I dont own anything from that line, but are those real car models from Japan ???
As far as Blaster, I just dont see the point of Transformers turning into working household gadgets. If you buy this to display in a collection, when are you actually gonna use the electronic feature??? That just increases the price for a useless feature. And if you actually plan on buying it to use it's electronic feature, how many times will you actually transform it to robot mode ??? The same thing is to be said about the "Ravange" memory stick. These are Christmas stocking stuffers, not real figures in my opinion.

Yes, all the alt modes from the Alternity line are real vehicles.

Not real figures? Stocking suffers? What does that even mean? The electronic features aren't useless. I have all my G1 instructions sheets saved on Ravage, and I plan on taking pics of all the figures in my collection and saving them on Tigatron. Realistically someone who just wants a USB hub or memory stick and nothing more isn't going to buy these, but a TF fan who needs one might. Pesonally I'll be getting Blaster purely for display purposes, same as my Music Label Soundwave. I've never even bothered putting a battery or mini SD card in him, but he makes the perfect Classics Soundwave. Would I prefer an option to buy this figure minus the electronics for a lower price? Sure, but at this point it looks like we are lucky to be getting this figure at all, and like many others I really want a Classics Blaster. (yeah I know he has already been released in Universe as the Cybertron Soundwave repaint, which I was not a fan of )

Truth in posting.
Also, Japan loves kawaii kitch. Device Label fits the bill pretty well.
Anyone with a slim model ps3 may get some use out of the USB hub, just a thought...

Toshiba is apparently releasing 4gig versions of Tigertron and ravage stateside sometime this year. They are still fairly expensive at $40 but at least they will have double the memory.
Personally I'm more exited about the new Alternity than any of the Device Label figures. But I might get Ravage if they are available at Best Buy and I can use some of my Reward zone points on him.

4 gigs? *facepalm* Oh well, I jumped the gun getting the first release of Ravage, but you just never know with these things. I'll rarely use it as a USB drive anyway.
