Just wait till Kingdom Core Megatron, he comes with a Megatron in gun mode and will be cheaper than this RED Starscream.

Really? So Megatron will be... playing with himself?
That so ridiculous and cool at the same time, Core Megs will be a sure buy for me!

If you have it, the gun-mode Megatron that comes with the Centurion Drone w/ weapons pack fits in CC’s hand, I’ve tried it before and although I’m not using it right now it looks amazing.
It doesn't have the stock and looks far too blocky. They did a gun megs for the SDCC Joe/TF crossover Starscream that looks fantastic, I know these are smaller than 1/12 scale but I figured a gun Megs in this size would've worked.

It's like Hasbro is hellbent on saving me money. They release toy after toy that I have no interest in, and if there's any chance I might want something, they don't ship it to a store anywhere within 500 miles of me. Not sure if I should say "thanks" or "screw them."

Good point, but I'm wondering if they tried to do any "scaling" at all...
They didn't because that's not what this line is about. It's about giving you 6 inch non transforming figures of Transformers characters.
I get the overall premise of the line, however, it wouldn't exactly be shocking if they still charged $20 for R.E.D. figures that were only 4 inches tall.
It's going to look really odd for anyone who has a Bumblebee who is the same height as Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, etc.

Happening right now in the cyberverse line.
Plus, 4 inch BB in RED would still be way too big to scale with Prime.

I was about to say the same thing for the Cyberverse deluxe... Hey, and all the other classes as well.

Totally, but my point was that I could see them making smaller RED figures (although scale wouldn't be accurate) and still charging $20/per.

But Action Master Prime Arcee is a big red F-YEAH!
Posted by blackeyedprime on January 11th, 2021 @ 6:07am CST
The scale on Arcee is more of a pain but I need a Prime Arcee and it might as well be her though I still might go for one of the old figures at some point too. RED Knockouts a likely purchase as the orig figure is a bit off looking.

Arcee looks good, but again, they didn't get the colors right on her. pretty disappointed by that

Are they still store exclusive like OP, Megs and Soundwave?

Don't be so sure. I took a look at the teaser image, and their TMNT offering and... not impressed with "highly articulated".

Hoping RED gets a Dinobot with Kingdoms alt mode being a bit arse.

The Thundertank is already the price of more batmobiles than I could fit on a table so I can't see them going the action master route nor people willing to pay the price for them when RED gets looked down on as is.

It's the same company that charges 20 pounds for a tiny figure with 70's articulation. So if you didn't find that worth it, no reason you'd change your mind with the new products.

Additionally, though many collectors are fans of an IP franchise first, others collect product brands. I think that's part of the appeal of ubiquitous brands like ReAction and Funko Pop. If you already have Turtles and Thundercats Ultimates, you might want to add a Prime to that shelf.
I get the appeal of some of these. Like, if I didn't already have MP Optimus and Megatron, or ER Optimus and Megatron with the accessories pack, it might be nice to have the R.E.D. versions to stage the battle over the dam. As it is, I like having a ReAction Alpha Trion because it's more faithful to the cartoon than any other representation. I'm not sure if these will last long enough or cover territory that's missing in Generations, but I think there's room for lots of different takes on these characters.

This also gives major credibility to the big leak we have with the SG repaints/Rexy crossover/etc, but that's a discussion for elsewhere.

Came in to do the exact same thing. We'll just have to wait in see if other exclusives (I'm looking at you Thrust) appear or if only new runs of exclusives are getting this treatment.

Unfortunately, that rang true for Arcee.
First off, the materials are absolute crap. What kind of plastic is this? None of my Marvel Legends or Black Series or Plasma Series figures feel like this, it's rubbish! It is so soft and bendy and the joints are either loose or feel like they are going to bend like a twist tie when i try to articulate her.
And speaking of articulation, who the hell approved these figures with only single joint 90 degree elbows and knees? for this line, double jointed elbows and knees should have been a requirement.
Lastly, they dropped the ball on the colors and paint apps. The pink and lack of any color on the weapons or effects part suck hard.
In short, Arcee will be my only RED. Hasbro should scrap this line, it is absolute garbage and will ultimately only take up space on the ever shrinking Walmart TF displays.

Prime Megatron and Prime Prime may be tempting too but I think scale that shouldnt bug me, would bug me.
shockwaves probably a pass but it will likely look nicer than the siege figure.

$50 and it's in the scale I want and was expecting from RED with better quality.

Both figures come in at 6-inches tall and are non-converting, as is the case with the R.E.D. line. By going R.E.D., Hasbro opted to "bring collectors the most screen-accurate versions of their favorite characters" for Primal and Megatron.
Where to Preorder the New Transformers R.E.D. Figures on July 23
Transformers R.E.D. Optimus Primal - 22,99 $US
Transformers R.E.D. Reformatting Megatron - 22,99 $US
Optimus Primal has 30 points of articulation and detailed paint, coming in at 74 deco ops. While not convertible, Primal does have a pair of blasters tucked away under his forearms, which is nice.
Megatron has 23 points of articulation and is modeled and decoed after the scene in the 1986 Transformers Movie "midway through his rebirth into the immensely powerful and menacing Galvatron." Megatron comes with Fusion cannon and includes 4 changeable hands holding Energon accessories.

Haven't bought any of those R.E.D figures but damn if Megs and Primal aren't tempting me. I like the reformatting translucent purple.
and Primal just looks awesome. Very close to Kingdom interestingly enough.

The Megatron's good, too. Better this than another Siege Voyager Megatron with some purple bits and a REALLY badly deco'd tank.
