Seibertron.com is proud to present it's 12th Transformers Movie gallery. The latest figure to get our special photogallery treatment is none other than the maniacal Megatron ... evil leader of the Decepticons! View over 130 pictures by clicking here.

And to add even more here is a review from our very own megatroptimus who was also able to grab one early.

Quick notes :

-Ice is not removeable
-Missile launches by retracting the silver piece on the gun
-There's a lever at the back of the jet... you pull and the wings move forward...
-Feet are spring-loaded : if you lift Megatron off the ground, they fold automatically
-Claws are poseable and retract for jet mode
-Some automorphing : as you unfold the feet for robot mode, the ice patches move up on the lower legs
-As you rotate the chest into position for robot mode, the torso ice patch moves down and reveals the head
-The jet rolls on 3 little wheels (2 on the feet and on the lower part of the chest (hidden by the ice patch in bot mode)
-Plenty poseable : head (ball joint), shoulders (click joints, bicep swivel, lower arm moves up/down, poseable claws, waist rotates, hips (click joints in both directions : front/rear, side to side), knees (swivels + front/rear click joints), feet (ball joints).
-Shoulders pads are spring-loaded (not sure why yet)
-The clear wing tip is made of soft plastic and the clear middle part of the wing is of harder plastic (still slightly flexible)

To transform from robot mode to jet mode...

-straighten the legs and rotate them 180 degrees
-rotate the waist 180 degrees
-lift the wings/backback until it's parallel to the ground
-move the waist/legs unit to the back (the torso's ice patch will move up to cover the head)
-peg the legs to the jet's tail
-retract the claws
-rotate the gun so it's now between both arm
-bring the arm closer to the middle so you can peg the gun to the torso
-peg the right arm's gun clip to the gun
-straitghten the arms so they point forward
-position the wings (not sure how they should be)

Pretty easy, but fun. The shoulders move down at an angle as you move the waist/legs unit.

Thanks for sharing all of your pictures with us today. I think it's great that we're able to share these pictures with everyone while the fandom waits for these figures to start showing up on store shelves. I'm jealous that you've got a few that I don't have yet. I've been doing Buy-It-Nows mostly and have basically only been getting ones that I thought were "deals" (relatively speaking considering these are advanced copies of figures).

It's a bird! It's a plane! I don't know what it is supposed to be. Some alien ice birdplane.

I must say that I find it a very weak transformation. Even with the other protoforms (Prime and Starscream) we saw, there has been a successful effort to disguise their robot modes, but not here. Megatron's jet mode, to me, looks like he stretches out his arms and legs, lies flat on his stomach and hides himself under the wing assembly. I really dislike the visibility of his head in jet mode, too. You could say that Energon Megs had that as well, but at least there it was hidden underneath the jet. Here it's in plain sight. A bit of a disappointment, certainly for one of the leaders.

I just realized that I finally hit 1,095 galleries. That was my goal to hit by January 4th earlier this year. Now I've got to figure out where I should be by today. I'll get you guys an updated goal here in the near future.

megatroptimus wrote:G1 Jetfire? He's quite boring by today's standards.

I disagree. I have a really old beat up Jetfire and a newer Macross Supervalkrie version from Bandai and both are still great figures (well, Jetfire would be if he were complete.) I find him as cool looking and fun to play with as any of the newer Cybertron stuff. Sure, he's not posable, but according to a bunch of opinions on the movie toys here, posability does not make the toy.

Back to the topic at hand. Very nice gallery here, Seibertron! I'm trying to keep an open mind about the movie and the figures. So far I don't find it much more objectionable than Armada or Energon (expecially Energon Prime.) I think Megs here doesn't look all that bad. I'm glad to see he keeps his arm cannon.

And on that, there is one thing that bugs me about that cannon. Why is it on his left arm? I know it's picky, but it smacks of a designer/director/whoever bowing down to fan demands for an aspect of Megatron we want to see, yet attempting to still make it unique to his idea by putting it on the left arm instead of the right. It bugs me. If they want to do the Transformers, why not be true to the genre? Why do they have to push things to the very limit (and beyond according to some fan reaction) to make the movie unique to themselves? Why isn't Ironhide a dark maroon rather than black? Why do Hollywood types get so close to doing something right but still become lazy and not follow through with the research (ask me about the "Roll program" part in Armegeddon sometime for a big rant)? Okay, enough of the mini rant.

Yeah, I'm sure the Leader class will be much better than this one. The ice is well-done, but it's just not doing it for me. The head is cool, but I'm still having a tough time liking that body...

I think Seibs forgot to move the tips of the wings down in Jet mode. Don't they go like this:

Btw, I just realized we both mistransformed it in jet mode if we look at those pics. I guess the flapping wings are for the robot mode?

Maybe it's how good Ryan is at doing these galleries, but if this figure is any indication I don't see what the big deal is about the movie's Megatron. Just a few thoughts:

Cyber Bishop wrote:That is the FAB megatron not the Voyager megs.

FAB auction

Your kidding, right? I know Ryan's already covered it, but still...... I flipped through the whole gallery before posting here, there's no way in hell that's a FAB. I personally don't expect the FABs to be any bigger than deluxe class.

DISCHARGE wrote:Robot mode looks good, but I can't make out a jet. Looks more like a Predacon, or some kinda ice Pokemon, in the alt mode.

I didn't think about it when I was looking at the gallery, but I've got to agree here. It is a pretty good robot mode. I dunno about not making out a jet mode, it does look more like a predacon/ice pokemon.

edit: 1 last thought on this gallery that I wanted to write to begin with but left it out when I posted: Damn am I ever glad G1 Megatron was never reissued here in America. Moreover I'm kinda glad I don't still have it. I just don't like that figure anymore.
