Regular buyers and people asking for TF comics mean that the shops will actually order the books. If they're ordering some for specific customers then they'll probably order a few more for the shelves. Asking ahead of time (when they're first solicited, not when the book is about to hit) and making sure that your local comic shop is actually carrying the books is the best way to support IDW and other independant publishers. Also bear in mind that the bestseller lists are based off initial orders through Diamond. Take out the middleman and TF comics become that bit less visable. With the movie out this year brand visability isn't so much an issue right now, but this time next year? I'll continue to buy through my local independant comic shop wherever possible.
I use to buy my comics that way. I had a list of comics I Wanted to buy, the shop would order them, and I'd pay for 'em when they came in.
But latly they haven't been ordering any of the comics on my list. It's like they just forgot about me.
And plus it's a small shop in a town in AL. I was surprised to learn we even had a comic shop.

My local Comic bookstore is the same and they expect you to wait till or if they can get an issue for you even though you booked the issue 12 or more weeks before hand

I rather like the idea of comics coming through the mail.
I've bought three through midtowncomics since my local source for TF books crapped out on me. I got the two Megatron Origin books and the Galvetron Spotlight.

It sounds very good, and I totally want to support them and make sure they keep this going.
The ownous (SP) seems to lie on your local comic stores and what they will do for all of their customers, not just those who buy popular mainstream books, but for anyone with a request.
I don't think this is for everyone, but some people will find it useful for whatever reasoning they may have.
I still enjoy a trip to the comic book store now and then, but it's even better if they have in what is requested and desired.

My comic stores have been loving the Transformers comics, and have been ordering multitudes of issues. As long as they continue to do that, then I wont need to use this service. However knowing it is there is a relief incase Transformers comics stop being ordered...

Actually with the Interest rate rise, and the strong import/export market, the AU$ should be staying near US$0.85 or so for quite some time.
I might check out the shipping costs, as Kings Comics always tack on a few $$$ more than they should. Phantomzone is much better though.
