To me he should be Ultra Magnus sized (not the undersized Siege Ultra Magnus) as I have smaller ones as is with classics and the larger CW/UW but each to their own and it makes more sense to scale to galvatron/scourge.

I still await pictures of Optimus Primal. I have some reservations about him being Voyager rather than Leader, but I'd like to see how it comes out regardless.

Fossilizer looks really sweet, I love that aesthetic!
Beast Megatron is the bomb! That dino mode is incredible, and I love the dino head on it! That is a great toy right there!
Cheetor and Rattrap are looking good.
Cyclonus is very meh, not feeling his style.
I have Generations Warpath, no need for the new one.
Eager to see what else beast wise comes out of this!

CYCLONUS, a herald of UNICRON, first appears in the 1986 movie when BOMBSHELL/SKYWARP were reformatted into the second-in-command of GALVATRON.
So I guess this settles, once and for all, who Cyclonus really is. He's an amalgam of Skywarp AND Bombshell. Cool.

I do like that they know of the controversy there and didn't want to give a concrete answer, so they just go "everyone's right!". Cyclonus will always be Skywarp to me.

I see a Tyrannosaurus Megatron, oh my....I want, yes...I really want it. I DEMAND MORE MEGATRON FIGURES!
Honestly it looks really good. I hope we get more of his incarnations like his TM mode and TM2 Dragon mode as well. Plus that fossilized Rex skeleton looks pretty cool too. It does appear Hasbro does know how to make believable dinosaur figures. Wish they did invest that in the Jurassic World toys they produced, but whatever. These look awesome. Also, Studio Series `86 Galvatron will eventually happen at least I hope it will. So that'll be a must-buy for sure.
Soooo awesome. I'm on board if even for these little things while I collect the Mattel Jurassic World figures.

Megatron looks AMAZING! That T-Rex mode is fantastic. They even went the extra mile and took a page out of the MP's book by giving him a normal arm inside his tail. The only potential issue might be the size of his backpack, but we'll see about that. Absolutely awesome.
Also, Cyclonus looks a lot better now that his legs are extended and with an actual deco.

I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is SS86 Galvatron is not going to happen. But that is only because of the good news that Galvatron will be a leader figure in Kingdom instead.

I'll take it either way here because as much as I love Titans Return Galvatron's sculpt and the fact the figure had been modernized, the headmaster gimmick is not my favorite thing ever. Especially the "mask crown" thingy.

A Leader Class Galvatron has already been all but confirmed for Kingdom, actually. The 1986 movie cast is being split up among a few different lines right now. Studio Series so far is getting Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Grimlock with Wheelie, Slag with Daniel, Scourge, and Gnaw/Sharkticon. Siege got Springer. Earthrise has Arcee, Allicon, and Quitesson Judge. Kingdom will get Arcee again, along with an Earth mode Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, and Cyclonus.

And does anyone else find it funny that Cyclonus' description describes him as being reformatted from Bombshell/Skywarp? It seems they just can't make up their minds...

I know most fans wont mind (some even mix & match older Generations toys & Newer ones), but if I personally were trying to assemble the cast of TF:TM, across all these different lines would be quite frustrating at the lack of consistency in overall appearance.

Yep, basically the design team saying, "Hey, we had no part in making the movie, don't ask us."

I don't get that impression at all, and I don't have any concerns about consistency. Springer is the biggest outlier due to battle damage, but it doesn't bother me at all.
And really, this isn't specific to the animated movie cast, either. My seasons 1 and 2 cast is split between Prime Wars and WfC, but aside from a couple of odd Headmasters, I don't think there's anything that challenges them being displayed together. I would go a step further and say I'm much happier with the consistency in the last two trilogies than in, say, Classics and Universe, or the generic Generations and T30 stuff.

What about Kingdom Cyclonus do you feel doesn't match what we've seen so far with Studio Series Hot Rod, Kup, and Scourge? They all look very on-model to me, with plenty of sculpted-in detailing on the flat surfaces, good paint apps, and accurate scaling to their on-screen appearances.

I don't know how many beasts I'll get, but I am a sucker for a good T Rex. And - FINALLY! A good Cyclonus! I mean, the deluxe Cyclonus mold is pretty good, but it really is just too small to work with anyone buy his contemporary Scourge and Galvatron molds. And Combiner Wars Cyclonus is Silverbolt. He just doesn't work very well as cyclonus. So this is very welcome.

Rodimus Knight wrote:Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, but the T-Rex head on Megaron looks a little derpy to me.
It's probably because of the angles he is shot at, and the more "realistic" approach they are taking.. Honestly I am loving that they are trying hard to make the beast wars figures look more like real animals as opposed to what we had before. I know many will be skipping them because trukk not monkey. But thats fine by me, means wont be so hard to find them.

My G1 cast consists of toys from every classics line from as far back as Universe '08. As long as I have a representation of a character that recognizably resembles them, I consider that enough (so I'm not planning to replace any T30 guys, even though they aren't strictly G1 accurate).

Speaking of Generations, Cyclonus. As anyone who has seen them in the other Toy threads knows, I am very partial to the Universe Cyclonus mold. owning all eight redecos. This one, is just plain inferior. I don't get why his design has gone backwards in 12 years??
As for BW Megs. Putting aside I own MP-43, I don't like Season One Megatron. The bot mode aesthetic is too busy. That sadly, doesn't seem to have changed. However, I like the new more "realistic" Beast Mode, especially the head sculpt.

I have all the redecos of him too and I must ask ... how is this one inferior?
The articulation looks like it matches AND it has wrists. The vehicle mode is more cohesive. I suppose you could prefer the bot mode overall.

Let's see. First off, The Head sculpt. Proportions of the bot mode and jet mode. The kibble backpack that the Universe one does not have. Aside from better cockpit windows, the jet looks a lot worse too, due to the excessive lower leg. Wrist articulation is somewhat irrelevant, as that was due to the streamlined transformation. But what they could have done is use the universe mold as a base for developing future Cyclonus'. As they nailed it with the '08 figure.

Skywarp was in the back. The Armada.
Plus, Skywarp was an idiot. Why Cyclonus has to be him is beyond me. In fact, any of them could be either one because they're completely different guys. Aside from Megatron they were all dead, anyway.

Yeah, I don't understand it either. It's like preferring the 2006 Classics Starscream mold to the new Earthrise version. The original Deluxe sized figures were great for the time, but these new ones are scaled better, colored better, more on-model to the original cartoon and movie, and have MORE articulation than ever before. I agree the the changes are not as drastic as they have been for some other characters updated more recently, but superior is superior, no matter the quality gap.

All of which is completely arbitrary and irrelevant if the figure looks worse overall. compare and contrast. In the Universe bot mode, try and find the jet mode. Other than the wings, behind his arms (which is design accurate) you can't see it.
Also from the images, the only difference in their articulation is the wrists. Which only matters if the arms are poorly articulated, which they weren't.
Lastly, as for the "controversy". Thundercracker was in the foreground and became Scourge. Bombshell was in the same foreground position and became Cyclonus. Also, Sunbow Skywarp was as smart a brick. Cyclonus wasn't.

This^. I think it just matters to some fans who's Dead husks were made into Cyclonus & Scourge's bodies. It's just easiest to go Blue seeker= Blue Scourge, Black/Purple seeker= Purple Cyclonus.
Also for the record, I have never understood the "Armada" as an individual character argument. Armada is a plural noun, has never been meant to be singular. It was likely meant to mean that Cyclonus himself was the commander of all the Cyclonus-like bots & Sweeps that were created.
