We thank Sabrblade for letting us know of new images for Warriors Hashtag and Spitfire. These combine together. And on Australia’s Target site, we got a first look at Tacticon Starscream.

Sabrblade wrote:Portuguese retailer Aj Aguiar has put up order pages for two new Warrior class figures, complete with official images: Terran Hastag (brand new mold) and Chaos Terran Spitfire (redeco of Warrior class Terran Twitch).

Well thats not quite her alt-mode but I like it! At least all the Terrans have decent full sized figures now.

Very curious about this “Chaos” version of Twitch, the second season can’t come soon enough.

Still prefer Hashtag was much larger, but it's something. She'll look right with one steps I guess. I wonder if the alt mode is so she can share it with another figure?

The latest warrior class figures from the Transformers Earthspark line appeared in Canada a little while back. However, no one posted a video review addressing the combination aspect of these toys, until now. While it isn't a mind boggling combination, remember that this is just a third mode for either toy, and a child still has a complete Transformers toy experience with owning just one of them as either can go from robot mode to vehicle mode as traditionally expected. The combination is just a bonus if you get more than one, and it will be cross compatible with the Hashtag figure that was just revealed.

Here is a video review of the combination aspect, followed by a review of Bumblebee and Twitch.

I have pretty much next to no interest in this show, and don't really buy the earth spark toys much. But this hashtag figure looks pretty neat. I especially like the vivid coloration and groovy alt mode. I might just pick her up as a CHUG-adjacent background character for my collection.

I have my own internal transformers universe I made up, so I don't need to get characters based on media, or limit interest based on media. I just get the characters who I think are cool, learn about their personality through play and research, and see where they fit in my own universe. Everyone has a story to tell.

Emails are being sent out via Amazon.jp informing people that the EarthSpark Deluxe Prowl figure will not be happening. This is supporting evidence found this past weekend when the Tomy-Takara Mall marked the anticipated release as "Discontinued" a little more than a month before its release. This figure was a surprise announcement, and was going to be a completely different release from Takara- utilizing the Cyberverse Deluxe Prowl mold, rather than the Cyberverse Deluxe Hotshot Mold that Hasbro repainted for Prowl.

Image

It appears that only the Prowl release (ESD-10) has been cancelled because Thrash(Slash) (ESD-11) is showing available on the Tomy-Takara Mall site currently.

Checked around Japanese sites to see what the deal was since Amazon isn't always accurate with their cancelation info. AmiAmi never offered either figure, HLJ has orders closed on both, Hobby Search only offered Thrash. But then I went to Takara Tomy Mall and found confirmation.

Of course the one Earthspark that everyone wanted to import over any other gets outright cancelled. I bet they offer it again with the Hot Rod mold. Best case scenario is they're holding off and doing it later for the next season.

In story it probably easier for her to to blend in this form than the GHOST van.

They toy reason, its probably easier to design this vehicle into a toy and easier to sell.

In the new issue of Figure King, there is a note that the entirety of Earthspark has been canceled in Japan. I don't know if that means after the release of what we know as Season 2 or that the sales and response have been so poor already that Takara is pulling the plug. Still, it is telling that something that had to be close to rolling off the production lines or sitting in warehouses already is pulled. I'll be honest, if anything that's caught your eye from Earthspark, especially the Japanese version, grab it now. I hope the Wheeljack, Breakdown, and Starscream Tacticons make it out easily.

It might not have helped that every episode of the Japanese dub has also been split in half to make every episode 11-minute-long 2-parters instead of the full 22-minute episodes that they are in the English version.

At the beginning of May I went on AmiAmi and ordered nearly everything they had for Earthspark except for the one steps since nearly all of it was on clearance. I used the slowest shipping method and it still hasn't been shipped yet, probably won't see it for another 2 or 3 months.

I got the Prime with trailer and wanted that Prowl but didn't get a PO in and well, I'm SOL now. Might go for the Warrior Thrash if it hits clearance but won't loose sleep if I miss out.

It's not entirely unprecedented for Takara to cut short their release of a Transformers line accompanied by an American cartoon. Both Robots in Disguise 2015 and Cyberverse never saw their final seasons released in Japan (or in Cyberverse's case, both its third and fourth seasons).

Unlike what was falsely reported on other Transformers fan sites, the Earthspark line was is still alive and well in Japan. We even have some brand new reveals to share with you with Takara revealing the upcoming deluxe Aftermath and Jawbreaker toys. While we should get these toys in the west, their decos may be different.

They also revealed their version of warrior Elita One, whose head can now swivel, and Hashtag.

The changes to Elita are nice (head swivel, no gimmicky arm), but I al wish they'd do a Deluxe Class version of her. The others look pretty nice, though I have zero clue who Aftermath is.

Aftermath and Hashtag look amazing and are musts for me just looking at them, new Elita I will probably get too. I've been passing on most of the EarthSpark figures so far but if they improve the figures to be cooler looking in a way closer to Animated (like Aftermath is looking) or even the level of RID2015 figures from what has been on shelves so far I'll def get more EarthSpark stuff.

Slowly catching up on the show, just watched the episode where Hashtag is trying to make a documentary to help Jawbreaker find his alt mode, taking it very slow but enjoying anyway... just wish the figures they have been releasing looked as good as these newer deluxes, I've only picked up a medium size Twitch and Thrash so far from the entire EarthSpark set, hope they update a cooler Megatron too, not sure how good his current figure is tbh though.

It's the Warrior class mold with her right arm retooled to remove its gimmick, a new swivel for her head, new gun accessories, and (like all of the other Japanese EarthSpark toys) loads of extra paint.

More than likely not since Hasbro already released their Warrior class version. This is just Takara's version of same figure, modified to better suit the Japanese market.

It's like how Takara made those unique Targetmaster molds for the Legends releases of the Titans Return Misfire, Triggerhappy, Slugslinger, Hot Rod, Kup, and Doublecross, or like how Takara made those two giant-sized Optimus Prime figures in the Japanese Robots in Disguise 2015 toyline that Hasbro never released.

Though it is odd that Takara seemingly did not give their version of Elita better knees.

Transformers fans have been taken for a loop lately since information and misinformation is coming from every direction for the Earthspark line.

Rumours Regarding the Show Itself

When it comes to the show, there were rumours that another show was under development. While that is yet to be proven true or false, it brought upon a ton of theories regarding the current show, Earthspark. As of now, all we know is that Paramount ordered two seasons and we are getting two seasons. We do not know if a third season will be coming or how many seasons were planned. A new show is probably in development but that does not mean that it is in response to Earthspark's performance. It may be that the new show is made ot be more in line with the next phase of the TF franchise, now that Transformers One moves it into a new era.

The Mistranslation that Created Misinformation

Now adding to this was a mistranslation of a Japanese site summarizing what they read in a magazine (so already there we have 2 levels of being stray from the actual source). While some fans interpreted the quote to say that the Earthspark line in Japan was cancelled, the actual quote from the magazine said that the deluxe Prowl figure was cancelled. The line itself is not over in Japan, and instead we are getting something that fans have asked for a very long time: Takara exclusive toys.

Which of the New Toys Revealed Today are Exclusives?

Remember the Transformers Go line, where Takara retooled Hasbro toys exclusive to their market? Well those days are back. DX Elita-1 is not really a deluxe Elita 1 figure. It is instead the warrior class toy we got in the first wave from Hasbro but retooled so that the weapon gimmick is removed and so that her head can swivel. She also gets a great deco treatment. So Takara basically turned a warrior class into a deluxe figure. They are doing the same with Hashtag, which as you can see below has been retooled to remove the combining gimmick of the warrior class figure we are about to get from Hasbro.

Image

Those two toys will not be released in the US or other Hasbro markets, they are exclusive to Japan. And since collector sites are not importing this line, anyone who wants these exclusives have to buy them from a Japanese outlet like Amazon Japan (links below). The two other toys shown today, Aftermath and Jawbreaker, are actual deluxe class toys we will be getting from Hasbro. We have their listings, they are coming out later this year. However, their deco will not be as detailed as the Takara versions. So if you want this exact deco, then once again you must order from Amazon japan or another Japanese online retailer.

Transformers Earthspark ESD-12 DX Terran Jawbreaker https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cg ... sform0c-22?tag=seibertron00-22&
Transformers Earthspark ESD-13 DX Terran Hashtag https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cf ... sform0c-22?tag=seibertron00-22&
Transformers Earthspark ESD-14 DX Elita-1 https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cd ... sform0c-22?tag=seibertron00-22&
Transformers Earthspark ESD-15 DX Aftermath https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/b0d5cd ... sform0c-22?tag=seibertron00-22&

Hopefully this helped a bit, if ever there are questions not addressed, feel free to join us in the message boards.

TL DR

- There is still an entire season of Earthspark to watch for anyone interested, we do not know if there will be a third season, or if one was even planned.

- The only thing cancelled, either by Hasbro or Takara is the deluxe Prowl toy, which was a redeco of the previously released Cyberverse deluxe Prowl. The Earthspark line is not cancelled anywhere.

- DX Elita 1 and DX Hashtag are Takara exclusive retools and redecos of warrior figures we either already got or will be getting from Hasbro

- DX Aftermath and DX Jawbreaker are molds that Hasbro will also be releasing but their decos will be slightly different

I pre-ordered all four. If I have to I can cancel the non exclusives, but there's always a chance these show up before Hasbro's.

Since Prowl was cancelled despite the line continuing I have to wonder if that means they weren't satisfied with it and are making a new one that’s so different they couldn't justify calling it the same order.

Rumour has it there was an issue with the molding and it couldn't be produced/distributed in its state.

I wonder if there's any validity to that? Considering the extensive mold work they just demonstrated with this new batch of Elita 1, Jawbreaker and Hashtag I can't imagine there's anything too wrong with the mold they couldn't have fixed.

Interestingly, that Cyberverse Deluxe Prowl mold is one of the few Cyberverse Deluxe molds that was only released once and never again. :-?

Rumour has it there was an issue with the molding and it couldn't be produced/distributed in its state.

And I'm fairly certain Japan didn't get it.

Nor Soundwave or Starscream either (EarthSpark was the first Japanese release of the Starscream mold).

I never thought I'd be interested in Earthspark figures... But I'll be keeping an eye out for Aftermath and Jawbreaker down the road to see if they ever go on sale.

In the meantime, the Warrior class Jawbreaker toy that's currently on store shelves is a pretty neat figure, too, complete with articulation roughly on par with most Deluxes. I got him back when he first came out as I figured the Warrior would be the only toy he'd get.

So far, I only bought 2 ES figures because I don't want to support "woke" shows with my money.

But these last 3 Takara reveals will make me break my rule for sure. The two deluxes are fantastic and ORIGINAL. Plus double-dipping on that Elita-1 Warrior may be worth it.
