This is a brand new mold for Optimus Prime, and this figure is smaller compare to Masterpiece MP-01 or MP-04. It is roughly the same size of MP-09 Rodimus Convoy.
This version of Optimus Prime features:
Trailer featuring roller and repair bay
Transforming gun that stores in back compartment
In scale Spike Witwicky figure
Energon axe
Look closer to animation model
Opening chest revealing Matrix of Leadership
Flush and more accurate alt mode

To be honest, I see nothing here worth $275.00
I believe they are talking about the gun here. Kinda like the gun with WFC Prime.

Thats what she said.
Quick thought - this could actually get a Hasbro release. I don't see anything there thats gonna seriously break any toy safety laws.

I should cross-reference anyone who comes into this thread with praise against anyone who slammed the figure without seeing it.

Ah. I hope that's all it is. Still, not impressed enough to spend that kind of dough.
Neat? Sure.
Looks good? Sure.
$250? No.

I don't think that's right.
MP Rodimus is like nearly a foot tall. His vehicle mode is HUGE. There's just no way this is in scale with Classics Autobot cars.

I don't know.
How many MP Convoys have we seen so far? 4. How many MP Starcreams? 3. Not including US releases or repaints.
How many Convoys in the last year alone? When they were working on a new mold the whole time?
Yeah. I think Takara is pretty cheap.
MP-10 should have been Galvatron.

I was really hoping he'd be in scale with Classics. That would be the only reason I'd justify getting another MP Prime.
Unless this guy gets down to $150, it's not for me.

I think classics are not scaled, but their vehicle modes are around 1:32 ish. (At least most of the cars).
Honestly, it's hard to tell from the pics, but that prime would be a little larger than 1:32. However, that's if you're being absolute about scale.
I think you are right, that this MP Prime would fit in with classics. The scale won't be perfect, but close enough.
And if you're too stickler about scale, then Binaltechs are more your gig than classics. To my knowledge, Binaltechs/Alternators are the only (and Alternity) Transformers line that is TRUE TO SCALE.

I didn't say that MP Rodimus was in scale with them, though he's definitely NOT a foot tall. The original MP Convoy is almost exactly a foot tall, and towers over MP Roddy:
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... 285/2/487/
I don't have a MP-09, but it looks like he's maybe nine or ten inches tall at most; he's only slightly taller than MP Grimlock.
Scalewise MP-09 is a huge mess anyway, as it is probably about 1:24 in Hot Rod's car mode (which is based in an actual car) and is probably supposed to be somewhat smaller in scale in Rodimus Prime's Space Winnebago mode, though I have no idea how big a Space Winnebago SHOULD be. It certainly bears little real-world scale resemblance to MP-01.
MP-10 should be slightly taller than iGear's KO of MP-01 (which is the same height as Mp-03 etc.). It remains to be seen how big it will end up be in truck mode, but I would guess a fair bit bigger since it will need to have internal room for the driver.
The iGear KO is a only a slight bit bigger than Classics/Henkei Convoy in vehicle mode, which is not in scale with the deluxe cars (if I had to guess I'd say it's about 1:40 or so; the deluxe cars seem to be about 1:35).
I'd do a size comparison photo of MP-01, the iGear KO, and G1 Convoy in truck mode, but I'm too lazy to transform my MP-01 into truck mode.
My understanding is that the G1 Convoy is 1:48; the G1 Autobot cars are about 1:35.

Agreed.
Of course I don't even want to think about MP Starscream as far as relative scales go. Unless he mass shifts smaller when transforming into robot mode he should be over twice as tall as Prime (based on their relative vehicle sizes), but that's pretty common knowledge.
Scale BS aside, I do like my Autobots to roughly match in scale in vehicle mode.

I always thought that the original MP Prime was a bit too big actually so this resized one that will be in perfect scale with Grimlock and Rodimus is great.
I'm planning on selling my MP Megatron anyway so am looking forward to getting a new one that is in scale with this.

Since Convoy is housing his own gun, he will never leave the house the garage.

I'm tempted to buy him, but after paying £150 for MP Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime and his having some little flaws that never should have been there in the first place if he hadn't been rushed out, then I'm cautious.
I'll keep an eye on the prices, see if they drop somewhat. I'll be getting him, no doubt about that, but I don't want to be paying a fortune for him until I know for certain if he's going to be worth the money.
If he were about £120, maybe £100, then I would be more tempted, and if he came with something more worthwhile than a Spike figure, then I would already be setting the pre-order.
Pity MP-10 wasn't Galvatron or Soundwave. Still I'll be getting him, but not on release.

But here he is more dynamic, heroic, imposing, and just the all-round definitive Prime.
His truck mode looks awesome. I always hated how the windows would overhang the grill area in the original MP. Plus the original MP had too many jarring seams on the side of the truck.
This figure is full of win, as the original MP just fell behind compared to it's MP successors.
It's expensive - my only complaint. Here is hoping they release a Megatron that is in the same scale too.

Yea, there are somethings I dislike more now that I've looked at the pics longer. That junk on his legs does look kind of bad.

Agreed... I'm not usually one to critize being as I have no engineering skills whatsoever, but I wonder that they wouldn't have been able to make the rear wheels fold back behind his leg to make his lower legs a bit less wide.

That's what I was thinking of while I was reading all the posted comments. My understanding was that MP-01L was to be the last Prime fans would see now this? I did consider to get MP-01L but after looking at what MP-10 has to offer and how tight everything looks in both modes, well gundam he is a must have....'nuff said!
