Pictorial Review for Legacy Commander Magmatron

Transformers Legacy's Commander Magmatron is out in Asia (predominantly Honk Kong) and in the UK thanks to InDemandToys. So fans have him in hand and are giving us the best look at this figure, and comparing it to the original. We have a pictorial review that delves into that by TheDapperScrapper. Read it below.

The full dinosaur set comes out really well with them, all being bigger and more articulated than the original.
The new textures and colours also makes them really eye catching.
I like the newer, more realistic style better for the dinosaurs but actually prefer the original look of the Pterosaur.

The Giganotosaurus is easily my favourite of the individual beast modes.
Loving the spiked spine running down the figure and how thick and chunky he looks.
Also nice to have the mechanical robot leg pieces tucked away.

The Elasmosaurus/Plesiosaur is nice in the way that it looks more realistic with it's shorter yet chunkier neck that actually looks more pleasing and proportional.
The downside is that it's not super long and bendy like the original which was always fun.
Although I'm fine with it how it is, I wouldn't mind seeing how an upgrade kit would look with a long and way more bendy neck would be.

Not much to say on the Quetzocoatlus other than it's bigger and better articulated without the original flapping-wing gimmick.
I much prefer the original neck and head design over the new one and also the flexy/rubbery wings I hope will hold up to time.

The big bad himself, Magmatrons combined mode is suitably towering and feels much more solid than the original.
Couple of things I'm not keen on is the rubbery sword that stores in the Gigas tail. It clips in very securely which means it bends and flexes quite a bit when you try to unclip it/pull it out. (Hoping for a hard plastic upgrade kit)
Also wishing for an adapter to mount the Plesiosaur shield on the side of the arm rather than just the back.

Just a nice standing pose with his sword down.
Took me a while to get it so the Legacy's sword wasn't bending all over the place.

Bit of a cheat here in that I unclipped the waist swivel which does give you an ab crunch to work with but you can hide it with camera angles.
Also, as I got my old one down for these comparison shots, i managed to show he's no slouch either for posing.

Lastly, the magmasaur.
Just a big, silly chimera mode and although it's not as clean looking as the original, the increased side gives it such a presence.

Transformers Studio Series Voyager Shockwave Found in US + Review

The second wave of Transformers Studio Series is being found in the US, The deluxes were found a little while ago at US Targets and Canadian Walmarts but the voyagers are fresher on the scene. The only new voyager mold of wave 2 is Shockwave (with a repacked WFC Starscream). He was found at US Targets (here's a specific sighting from Florida).

We have a new review for you for the upcoming Legacy United Deluxe Sideburn Transformers toy. This is a straight redeco of Cyberverse Shadowstriker with a new head. At least that's what it looks like, if you spot more retooling, let us know. Sunstreaker is another fantastic figure that is released during a period when Hasbro is releasing many great figures. Transformation is smooth, intuitive, and easy. While Concept Art figures might not be your style, this is just a great transforming toy.

Fans have gotten their Transformers Missing Link C-01 and Missing Link C-02 Convoy / Optimus Prime figures recently. These are the newly made Generation 1 Optimus Prime toys which are truly the G1 toy with modern articulation, so a missing link between the past and present. These are not cheap so in case people are hesitant and want to know as much as possible, we have a video review below for you. This was done and sent to us by fellow Seibertronian Chuckdawg 1999. While they were available on the website, it was unsure if the Walmart exclusive 40th anniversary Trasformers G1 Soundwave and Blaster eeissues wouold find their way in stores as well. However, we have several reports of them being found at stores across Canada. The particular images below are from a Quebec Walmart and are courtesy of TF fan Daniel. These reissues go for $66.97. Legacy United figures are starting to show up at retail in various places in the world. One of the first wave of Core Class figures is Megatron, from the Transformers: Energon series, and regular reviewer Chuckdawg1999 had given us a solid look at the new figure.

Thankfully I didn't have to wait as long as I thought to experience Core Class Energon Megatron. It's a good figure but nothing groundbreaking or radically different. I do find it funny that the upgrade to Armada Megatron is three size classes smaller. Transformation is simple, joints are tight, and Megs looks just like it did during the run of the Energon cartoon. Like I said, nothing bad but nothing surprising.
