A new update has been sent out via e-mail from the
Transformers Collectors Club. According to the statement, the free Club exclusive, Breakaway, has arrived at Fun Publications HQ along with the Botcon box sets. The problem though, is that with how busy Fun Publications is currently, they are unable to ship the figure at the moment.
They also go on to state that there will be Breakaway toys at Botcon for purchase though.
: |
Hello XXXXXXX!
I have good news and some almost good news:
In honor of the boxed sets arriving from China Thursday, we posted the
box art for this year's convention set at BotCon.com.
The almost good news is that the Breakaway figures came in the same
shipment but...we won't be able to get them out before BotCon. We will
have some with us for sale in RI. We will be shipping all the free ones
when we return from RI and they should all be in the mail by July 13th.
Thanks for your patience.
BTW, the bag has a misprint on them and it says BotCon 2007 which is
not correct. The Breakaway figures have nothing to do with the BotCon
figures, only they were produced at the same time.
Thanks for your support!

Just wanted to share with the fandom this quick e-mail update from Brian regarding Hasbrotoyshop.com, movie toys, the fate of the last 100 spots for the HASBRO tour, and Botcon registration forms:
"Hello ______________!
MOVIE TOYS, MOVIE TOYS, MOVIE TOYS!
We are just a few short hours away from all of the movie product being released for sale at transformersclub.com/shop. No need to fight the crowds in the stores. Order you products from the club and never get out of your PJs! Keep watching the club store...sales start on Saturday, June 2.
All of the confirmation letters are in the mail now. Please read your letters carefully as well as check for any name spelling errors. (LMK and I will correct them) These letters contain your official invoice for exactly what you are registered for at BotCon 2007.
Please note that the emails you received earlier only confirmed what you had asked for on your registration form and that we received your requests. They were not confirmations of what you actually are registered for.
Please make sure that you bring all of these documents (and photo ID) and arrive in time to be at registration for the time slot you are assigned for. You must pick-up your items in person. If you arrive after your start time, you can still pick-up your items as they will be held for you.
However, please note that there will be limits on the souvenirs you can purchase Thursday and Friday and it is first come, first served.
Also, note that if you are on the visit to Hasbro, you MUST pick up your items and tickets on or before Thursday night (tour and class participants pick up Wednesday night) or you will not make the departure time for the visit.
The final 100 guests for the Hasbro visit will be announced on the 8th of June.
Thanks for your support,
Brian

Shawn Tessman, the Teacher of the Botcon Customizing Class has posted a small tid-bit of information regarding the character to be used for the class on the
Transformers Club.com forums.
Shawn Tessman : |
Ok, a small bone. It's an existing character, not something I made up. For the money youse guys are paying, I'd at least want there to be half a chance the character you make is one you might care about.

We'll keep you posted when more information becomes available.

Transformers Club.com has posted a new image of the cover of an upcoming exclusive comic book featuring the "Timelines" title, but the story features Transformers Classics!
From the image, it appears that Ultra Magnus (Target Exclusive, no body armor), Springer, Grimlock, Elita-1, Huffer, and several others such as Classic Minicons are decending from the sky.
It is also noteworthy that Elita-1 is pictured to be a remold of Cybertron Thunderblast. Springer appears to be using the Cybertron Defense Hotshot Mold. Lastly, Huffer appears to be using the Cybertron Armorhide Mold. Could these be more Botcon exclusive figures to go with this year's Classics theme? Only time will tell.
Also, according to Pete@Botcon, this will be distributed through Diamond Comics Worldwide!

For those of you wondering what the mysterious "Me Grimlock" forum on
Transformers Club.com is, the cat is out of the bag.
Pete@Botcon has posted a long update regarding the new feature for Transformers Collectors Club Members.
Basically, the Collectors Club will be sending a Classic Grimlock figure around the country to individual Collectors Club members. The members who want to participate need to contact
pete@botcon.com with their name and address that they wish Grimlock to be sent to.
The grand idea behind this is to piece together a photo journal of Grimlock's travels across the country. Each member who receives Grimlock is expected to take him "sight-seeing" and get plenty of pictures of area attractions with the Club Member and Grimlock.
For more details regarding "Me Grimlock", go to
Transformers Club.com and log in to the "Members Only" Section.

The following plea and notes from the people of BotCon 2007 was send via news letter to all the members of the
Master Collector Transformers Club. The following has been taken directly from their latest newsletter.
"
Hello _________!
This is going out to all members and if it does not apply, please disregard. I know that everyone is very excited about BotCon this year and so are we. I need to ask everyone again, please don't call or email about your registration packages. This is causing a HUGE log jam and is keeping us from getting these forms processed.
Notes:
1. Everyone will get a call or email about their packages.
2. Many people made mistakes on their forms and it takes a while to fix these. We can't read a lot of the writing so we are having to call because of bounced emails.
3. When you get a call or email, you will get a reference number. That's all it is...a number so that we can quiclky find your papework again before it is processed. Once it goes into the computer, the numbers don't mean anything anymore.
4. It will take as much as 2 more weeks to process what is in house and bill credit cards.
5. If your card has a problem, we will only retry it once and then we will come back to you after we finish the rest of the registrations.
6. If we have a question about your form, it is VERY important that you answer us back within 24 business hours or we may have to give your spot to someone else.
7. The customizing class is full. We have opened a second class on Wednesday and it is full as well. There was a HUGE demand for this class.
8. The 3-D display class still has a few seats. This class will be just as good as the customizing class.
9. Do not re-fax the same form again as this causes more work to see if it is a duplicate.
10. I will email everyone when we are finished with the email/phone confirmations. THEN you can call us if you think we did not get your form.
11. You will get a hard copy confirmation sometime in late May/early June.
Again, it will probably take 2 more weeks to catch up with all of the registrations.
Thanks for your understanding and support.
Brian
PS our new temporary phone hours are 9:30-4:00 Central time weekdays as we need to get the work done".

Pete@Botcon has confirmed on the
Transformers Collectors Club forums that the new character, Bug-byte, is indeed the mysterious leader referred to in the Botcon brochure.
So with that in mind, this may change people's guesses as to which characters will be used in the souvenier sets as well as the free attendee exclusive.
Keep watching
Seibertron.com as more details about the Botcon figures are released!
