Raving Toy Maniac have posted a short "Question and Answer" session they had with Hasbro.
Included in the Q&A session was a question regarding any future releases of Droid characters in the Star Wars transformers line:
2. Any chance of seeing Droid based Star Wars Transformers, like an R2-D2 or C-3PO that convert into something?
Answer: It's a matter of size, character expression, and natural fit between the modes. First, R2-D2 and C-3PO are already robots (well, droids). Generally, Star Wars Transformers make sense in the film context with their character tying into vehicles with which they are associated and there aren't any good ties with the droids and vehicles that are compelling (other than perhaps R2-D2 and a Starfighter). In addition, while R2-D2 would be our first choice, a robot mode for him have to change his silhouette significantly and would not really deliver on R2 that we know and love. That's why the humanoid characters work the best.

Transformers Movie star Shia LaBeouf, who gave a quick update on the status of the
Transformers Movie sequel. Though it may not be new information to many, it does re-affirm the statements made by the writers and others involved in the prodution of the sequel.
CS: Any word or update on "Transformers 2"?
LaBeouf: We're in the middle of a strike so you can't write a script and you can't make a movie without a script so that's where we're at.

Simon Furman has once again updated
his blog, this time with a relatively spoiler free update on Titan UK issue #9:
‘Twilight’s Last Gleaming pt1′ (of 5) delivers an entirely alternate take on the climactic scenes in which Megatron sought to claim the All Spark, only to be denied by Sam Witwicky. In the new UK continuity, things didn’t end quite so neatly, and in part 1 we look in on a world now ruled (in a large part) by Megatron and the Decepticons, with the few Autobots (and humans) still at large fighting for survival.
Furman has also included some preview art, showing that the comic cast is not Movie only inclusive:

Variety has posted an article about Hollywood's reaction to the tentative deal made with the Directors' Guild,
see here, and goes into detail about how directors are dealing with the still-unresolved Writers' Guild strikes, that have been going on since November 5th of last year.
The article ends by quoting
Transformers Movie director Michael Bay, who gives us some insight on how he prepared the
Transformers Movie sequel for the WGA strikes as well as the potential Actors' Guild strikes in the future.

Director Michael Bay said he was cautiously optimistic, but that he has been preparing to get a "Transformers" sequel into production, strike or no strike.
"We knew from early on that the writers strike could get ugly, and this has got to bring a little sanity to the situation," Bay said. "I can't do the movie without my writers, but I have been prepping. I'm not in the guild, but I've been writing every day. This strike (is) insane, and a director's responsibility is to the 50 crew members who depend on you for their livelihoods. We've got battle plans ready for the possibility of an actors strike. Somehow, you've got to keep the ball rolling."
