CanMag sat down with
Transformers Movie Shia LaBeouf and had an
exclusive interview with the young actor. LaBeouf did his best to promote this movie by making several comments on the production of it.
"
I've seen more of the film. The movie's insane. It's going to do for action what The Matrix did for action. ILM said, and this is the company that does like Star Wars and Superman. They do all the big ones, Pirates of The Caribbean, they said they'd never worked on anything like this. They'd never done graphics at this level. This is the most insane thing they've ever done. They said if they were to present their company to anybody, it would be that movie".
"
Look, as long as you make sure Welker is in and you make sure that Cullen is Optimus. If anyone else is Optimus the movie is terrible. It has to be Cullen. Now Welker is older, much older than Cullen and his voice has changed. I’ve heard him in sessions. He'd be great as another robot but to play Megatron you need somebody powerful and Hugo Weaving is powerful. I think its great casting to but I think the fans are going to have an issue with it".

Thanks to our very own Hotrod,
Seibertron.com has an exclusive interview with Steve White. Mr. White was originally a colorist for the first UK Transformers comics produced by Marvel. He is now heavily involved with the creation of a brand new Transformers comic series being released by
Titan Books for the United Kingdom market. It was only right for us to pick his brain on the subject.
To see what he had to say, take a look at the
interview.

Eric Holmes, writer of the upcoming Megatron Origins comics, sat down with
CBR for an
interview about how this comicbook came to be.
"
The book is all about the origins of the war, the Decepticons and my favorite Transformer of all - Megatron. The project came about because as long as this war has been going on, I had never seen a definitive origin that gave a reason for things to end up the way they are in regular continuity. There's talk of a war, and gladiatorial battles and some general pursuit over the control of energy, but it was never tied up in a way that could you why".
"
There'll be a bunch of other Transformers in the story, all a little tweaked from what you know. It's fun to imagine who is doing what before the war. The focus is mostly on the classic characters, the ones there right from the beginning. Prowl. Soundwave. Starscream. A few of the lesser-seen characters. Ratbat. Blades. A bunch of cameos of people in civilian life. We have a Prime, but it's not Optimus - it's Sentinel Prime. There are a lot of ideas in this. I honestly wish I had more pages - you could do a lot "before the war" and continue it as the war is spreading across the planet".

Yesterday, we reported
information about the upcoming Transformers UK comic book, which will coincide with the Transformers movie. Since then, Seibertron has received more detailed information directly from the editor, Steve White. A specific release date, style, and hints about its progress were discussed. He is presently seeking readers’ letters and artwork that they can run in the first couple of issues. If you are interested in contributing please send them to: steve.white@titanemail.com
Title will be palin ol’ Transformers, although we refer to it in house as TF UK to differentiate with the IDW stuff.
The first issue goes on sale 19th July and will be an on-going title in the same style as the Marvel UK comic. Simon Furman will (as this stage) be writing all the strips. Geoff Senior will hopefully being doing issue one, whilst Andrew Wildman is also lined up.
At the moment we have nothing we can release. We have A cover, but not THE cover. Once it’s all been approved, I’m sure I’ll be ‘leaking’ stuff – same goes for the new artwork.
Nothing new to release right now – although I guess I can that the first free gift will be TF dog tags, one Autobot, one Decepticon.
More news as it arrives.
Any help with the letters and art much appreciated.
Steve

MTV has put up an
interview with the writers of the
Transformers Movie, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. In the interview the two writers talk indepth about writing the Transformers script.
"
Our first draft centered almost exclusively on the kids. That draft represented the emotional heart of the movie. Much of its structure stayed, but when it came time to do the second draft, we realized we needed to bolster it with the disaster-movie paradigm, following a couple other stories and showing that the Transformers arriving is a global phenomenon. The second draft was much more about the action".
"
So much of the movie is like a war movie. It's like "Saving Private Ryan" with Transformers. Some of it is very intense. And the third act is mind-blowing".
