The SAFEGUARD TEAM was designed with the role of battlefield support in mind. HEAVYTREAD's deco is based on the G1 Minibot WARPATH. FLATFOOT’s name comes from a slang word for a police officer.
The OVERCAST TEAM was designed to fill an aerial assault function. CLOUDRAKER was originally the name of a G1 AUTOBOT clone, repurposed here for a helicopter gunship. BOLTFLASH’s name was inspired by both lightning imagery and the flash of a breech loading rifle. SKYHAMMER is also an old G1 name taken from the rare AUTOBOT Ultra Pretender. This SKYHAMMER is based on the COBRA RATTLER from the GI JOE toy line.
The LANDSLIDE TEAM and RANSACK Team were intended for combat engineering and toxic warfare capabilities.

It's official TFA toys hit CINCINNATI!
A press release that you can find
here at the Botcon site states that Walmart, K-Mart, and Toy R' Us in the Cincinatti area would be the stores that travelers to Botcon and local folks could find the early release of many Animated toys possibly including The Animated Battle Pack, Deluxe and Voyager size toys (Wave 1 only), and others.
Of course, the major emphasis of Botcon this year was the new ANIMATED cartoon, and the guests, logo, and now this news enforce that idea.
This is should indeed be good news for the Seibetron contingent that is building and building for the trip to Botcon. Hope to see you there, Animated toys in hand or not!
If you are not quite sold on the toys yet, check out Seibertron's
galleries of the toys, and then perhaps pick yourself up some next week at your excursion to Botcon!

Anne Bryant, composer of the original Transformers theme song, has sent us a fun political parody video that I thought I'd share with all of you. It's not really Transformers news, though I'm sure those of you who've been on Seibertron.com long enough know that I sometimes like to step outside the lines with the information that gets posted here. Anne has been an absolute joy to talk to over the past few years and I'm happy to help her out from time-to-time.
So, without further ado, put aside your political views and check out her video that she created alongside
Ellen Bernfeld (the singing character of "Pizzazz" from Jem and the Holograms). Just for the record, this video does NOT express the views and opinions of Seibertron.com or Ryan Yzquierdo.

According to 'ivlife.com' writer Eric Galvan, TF2 will be getting partially filmed in the valley:
"Imperial County Film Commission liaison Susie Carrillo announced during Wednesday’s City Council meeting that the commission was bidding to get the filming of “Transformers 2” in the Imperial Valley.
Carrillo said the Imperial County Film Commission would know within the next month if filming for the movie, a live-action adaptation of the widely popular 1980s cartoon, would take place locally. The film would be scheduled to begin shooting in the fall.
Carrillo also said new film commission Executive Director Charlotte Teeters will be starting in June.
It was also announced that the film commission will be “under the umbrella” of the Imperial Valley’s Joint Chambers of Commerce and will be housed in the El Centro Chamber of Commerce building."

IDW Publishing have issued a Press Release concerning their upcoming Series "Reign of Starscream". The full Press Release can be found below.
Transformers Comic Series Continues Story From Blockbuster Movie
All-new official sequel from IDW picks up where the movie left off.
San Diego, CA (April 1, 2008)-IDW Publishing (
http://www.idwpublishing.com) is releasing the official continuation of last summer's blockbuster Transformers movie, from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro. The first storyline to spin out of the hugely successful movie, Transformers Movie Sequel: The Reign of Starscream continues the story from where the movie ended.
Co-writers Chris Ryall, who also wrote the Transformers Movie Prequel, and Chris Mowry present a tale of intrigue, betrayal, and dark ambition, featuring both old and new Transformers characters. "The movie left fans with some questions at the end, and we get a chance to answer them here," says Ryall. "We pick up on what happened at the end and reveal the fates of some of the surviving film characters. Take Starscream - we find out where he was headed and what he was doing. We also introduce new characters. In doing so, we bridge the gap between the last movie and the next movie, coming in '09."
In the first issue of the five-part comic series, when Megatron falls in battle Starscream assumes the role of Decepticon leader on Earth. Mustering his surviving allies, he sets out to put his own plan in motion. But before he can do that, he'll need to retrieve a fallen comrade, carry out a plan of revenge and leave Earth to meet up with a major player in the Decepticon army.
The Reign of Starscream #1 features art from fan-favorite Alex Milne, who also illustrated the Transformers Movie Adaptation, and cover art by Milne and Gabriel Rodriguez, artist for Joe Hill's Locke & Key. A special variant cover has also been created by longtime Transformers artist James Raiz.
The first issue (item code FEB08 3801) will be in stores in April; call 1-888-comic-book (1-888-266-4226) to find a store near you.
