Revolution Paves Way For Revolutionaries
A New Team of Hasbro Characters Unite To Form REVOLUTIONARIES
San Diego, CA (September 1, 2016) – REVOLUTION was only the beginning! Once the dust settles on Revolution, IDW’s groundbreaking event series that catapulted a new comic book universe into existence, heroes and villains will rise from the ashes to form new alliances and take on even greater challenges in this brave new comic world.
REVOLUTIONARIES will be born.
A G.I. Joe, a man of action, and a few Cybertronians thrown in for good measure, will form the basis of a team unlike any ever conceived before.
REVOLUTIONARIES, the latest addition to the first wave of post-Revolution titles, will further explore and shape the fledgling comic universe which encompasses TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, ROM, MICRONAUTS, ACTION MAN, and M.A.S.K.: MOBILE ARMORED STRIKE KOMMAND.
This series will reunite Revolution writer John Barber and artist Fico Ossio and will team characters from every corner of this action-packed series, showcasing a full slate of mind-blowing guest stars, including both old favorites and exciting new additions. In addition to the regular players of Action Man, Blackrock (Transformers), Mayday (G.I. Joe), and Kup (Transformers), Revolutionaries will feature a rotating cast of teammates, opening the door for dream team-ups from issue to issue. These Revolutionaries will band together over the course of the unraveling central storyline, a mysterious plot, that serves as the backbone throughout the series.

Fellow Seibertronians, in the wake of the release of Combiner Wars Episode 4 just yesterday; Machinima's Youtube Channel has put out a promotional Top Ten Combiner Wars characters video, as can be viewed below.
Most notable about this is that due to not actually having ten characters yet to make a full top ten list out of, the list includes Devastator and Victorion; hence giving us never-before-seen clips of future episodes, including Victorion landing on a structure and Devastator facing off against Megatron. Continuing in IDW's streak of literacy development programmes, we have a new press release from the San Diego publisher, being rewarded for their work in the field - through Traveling Stories and more - with a Red Balloon Award! Read on below to find out more about their efforts and the award itself.
IDW Publishing To Receive Red Balloon Award In Recognition of Contributions To Community Literacy Efforts
San Diego, CA – (August 3, 2016) The inaugural Red Balloon Awards, presented by Traveling Stories, will honor five literacy heroes including IDW Publishing. The event will benefit the organization’s StoryTent program, which provides free reading support to more than 2,000 underserved children in San Diego every year.
Winners of the award are selected based on the literary works they create, their advocacy efforts and the financial support they provide to community programs.
While IDW’s trophy cabinets may already be overflowing with Eisner and Harvey awards, Publisher/CEO Ted Adams said this award is “sometime entirely different.”
“It recognizes the work that the employees of IDW have done to support a local non-profit that is making our community better,” said Adams. “Everyone who works at IDW knows how important literacy and the joy of reading is to having a happy and productive life.”
IDW will receive their award at the Red Balloon Awards dinner and gala event on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 6 to 9:30 pm at the San Diego Woman’s Club, 2557 Third Ave., San Diego, CA 92130.
Other award recipients include Kevin Eastman (co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Las Patronas, Waypoint Public, and Don & Jo Soderquist. Traveling Stories will also announce a Volunteer of the Year on the night of the event.
This year’s gala, with the theme “Cirque du Livre” (Circus of Books), will begin with a cocktail reception with music by DJ Marcus More and live cirque performances. The event includes a silent auction. In addition, VIP guests will have the chance to visit with former professional U.S. soccer star Landon Donovan for a special cocktail hour.
The awards show will be hosted by Emily Moberly, San Diego Woman of the Year Finalist and Founder of Traveling Stories, and 10-year-old Malika Shaw, a regular attendee at the City Heights StoryTent. Shaw was the guest of honor at Traveling Stories’ 2014 event “A Night Out So They Can Read.” She was recently reclassified from a below-average reader to an accelerated reader at school. Her mom credits this improvement to the weekly visits Shaw makes to the Traveling Stories StoryTent.
“The Red Balloon Awards is a chance to celebrate the transformative power of reading,” said Emily Moberly, Founder of Traveling Stories. “The funds raised from this event are vital for ensuring that children in San Diego become confident readers and attain every opportunity to flourish.”
Key sponsors for the Red Balloon Awards include Mission Federal Credit Union, IDW Publishing, Mike Hess Brewing Company, and St. Petersburg Vodka. Event planning services are provided by Live Life Shredded.
Early-bird ticket registration for the Red Balloon Awards is $65 per person ($75 after 8/15/16) or $450 for a table of eight ($600 for a table of 8 after 8/15/16), while sponsorship opportunities range from $450 to $10,000.

Our friends over at TFExpo sent out the following press release letting us know that the show is happening this weekend August 5 and 6 in Wichita, KS. Also check out below for info on the charity auction benefitting K-9 Karma Animal Advocates.
Transformers fans will gather in Wichita, Kansas this weekend for TFExpo 2016, at the Hotel at Old Town in Wichita, Kansas. Special guests include fan-favorite Transformers voice actors David Kaye and Michael Bell, as well as IDW Comics artist Casey Coller and toy reviewer Optibotimus. Our guests will be meeting fans, holding Q&A panels and signing autographs throughout the day.
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary weekend of Transformers: The Movie, the historic Wichita Orpheum Theatre is holding a theatrical screening of the movie Friday night at 8pm. Movie attendees will be able to shop from vendors for souvenirs and see their favorite childhood memories on the big screen once again! A special appearance by Michael Bell is planned at this event. Through a press release from IDW Publishing, as well as the SDCC 2016 panel this afternoon IDW and Hasbro: The Revolution is Now, we've gained our first glimpses into the world of Transformers comics after the Revolution crossover event. The Transformers related points from IDW's press release follow shortly below, but please be forewarned that reading this information may (and almost definitely will for some readers) spoil currently running story arcs in both The Transformers and More Than Meets The Eye!
The Revolution ripple effect continues to shake things up as IDW’s Transformers line will see some changes with the introduction of two new ongoing titles: Transformers: Lost Light and the first-ever ongoing Optimus Prime series.
Transformers: Lost Light will continue the fan-favorite adventures told by More Than Meets the Eye writer James Roberts, joined on art by Jack Lawrence (Doctor Who Adventures). Beginning in December, this new series will take Rodimus and the crew of the starship Lost Light into the farthest reaches of the universe, searching for the long-lost Knights of Cybertron.
Next, John Barber, who recently exited his post as IDW’s Hasbro Group Editor, won’t be straying too far from his IDW roots as he tackles Optimus Prime, the first solo series to star the eponymous Autobot. John will be joined by artist Kei Zama (Scarlett Witch). Optimus Prime has declared Earth to be under his protection—and this November, he’ll have to face the consequences.
All those titles will join the currently running Transformers: Till All Are One, Micronauts, and upcoming ROM, which will each continue on, their storylines now converging with this newly established universe as their backdrop.

Transformers: Lost Light is essentially More Than Meets The Eye Season 3 with a name change.
