Power of the Primes wave 2 Voyagers Elita-1 and Hun-Gurr have popped up at US Walmarts. This means we can finally have a good look at the finished figures. Dorfsquest picked up Hun-Gurr and posted in-hand images, along with his thoughts on the figure, on the TFW2005 boards and we have included all that he has posted below.
This is our first look at Abominus' torso and combiner head sculpt (aside from artwork). Unlike the original G1 toy, the combiner chest plate is not an independent piece but instead already part of the toy and it can be seen all across the robot mode's back.
Here is what Dorfsquest had to say about the figure:
Hun-grrr is a pretty solid figure though he isn’t without flaws... his fists in robot mode don’t really peg into place in a solid way, and his legs are hollow from behind, which I hate. Also, the decals applied to his outer thighs appear to cover some plastic details.
Positives - His two-headed dragon mode looks pretty good, and the torso mode snaps together very solidly. Overall I say he is worth picking up.
The pictures are below, let us know what you think of the toy and if you will be picking it up. We are currently looking for in hand images of Elita-1 and will be posting them once we find them.
While our sponsors recently startd taking preorders for Power of the Primes Wave 2, with an April 2018 release date, the deluxes from this same wave have now appeared in Singapore. This is the first sighting of the deluxes worldwide, which include Sludge, Snarl, Rippersnapper, Moonracer and Blackwing. They are currently available at collectables shop Hobbyark. This does give us some new in hand images. Below you will see close ups of the headsculpts and all five G1 Dinobots reunited (and it feels so good!). These images come to us from Singapore TF fanpage STFU.
Seeing this, it is impossible to say exactly how much sooner we will see these same toys in North America compared to their April release date from online retailers, but this does inform us that they are ready and shipping out to retailers.
So, knowing wave 2 is on the way, are you all caught up on wave 1? Which do you have left to pick up? And which of these wave 2 deluxes are you most excited for? Join the covnersation and let us know!
After having been sighted at smaller specialty shops, and having pricing confirmed, we can now report that Transformers Power of the Primes figures have finally been sighted at mass retail in Australia! Fan M Nero sent us this photograph from a POTP display in a Myer store in Chadstone, Victoria, showing us that Leader Class, Voyager Class and Deluxe Class figures can currently be purchased. This is great news for Australian fans who have been waiting for Power of the Primes figures to show up, as many other countries have seen the figures since late last year. Are you in a corner of the world that is just seeing POTP figures hitting the shelves? Let us know about it! Email us with photo evidence, as well as letting us know where and when you saw it, and your sighting could be front page news! Also, don't forget to share your sightings with fellow collectors both for individual figure sightings and figure sightings in your local area!
The latest figures in the Authentics line, the simplified figures featuring the evergreen designs, were spotted recently in the Philipines and Cheatron wasted no time getting a review prepared. You can see him reviewing both the Grimlock and the Optimus Prime from that wave. In case people are confused about which figures these are, especially since the reviewer does not use any of the names used in this article, these are the voyager sized simplistic figures that we have been seeing under various names in different listings. There are smaller 4" figures which have Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream and there is a 7" line that just has Optimus, Bumblebee and Grimlock so far. Below is a review of that 7" Optimus and Grimlock.
There is no actual name for the line on the box/card. Hasbro has labelled it as the Authentics line, while this 7" line also goes by the name Project Storm in its store labeling, which is a name we have seen before in listings, not knowing what it was.
These toys are meant for a younger audience and have even stated appearing at Dollar General locations in the US, so please send us sightings.
For collectors who like these designs and would like figures with more traditional complexity, it seems that will be happening as well.

You'll remember how it was revealed that there are larger, 7 inch Transformers Authentics toy than the 4.5" initially seen, also featuring new designs that hark back to the evergreen, iconic shapes and sizes of classic characters such as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, Megatron, Grimlock and Soundwave. Thanks to the Snakas blog, we actually have in hand images and a sighting, coming to us by way of the Philippines (where they are on sale at Toy Kingdom for 599.75 Pesos / 11 USD at the time of writing ) for the two Autobots and the Dinobot!
Grimlock also comes with some posed imagery and shots of both modes, while the other two are in package and on-shelf, and some comparisons with the smaller class size Megatron, too - but check them all out below.
Thanks to Maverick Prime, we now know two more things. Firstly, MPM-5 is now out at Toysrus in the Philipines, and secondly, we have our first English language review of the figure. This is from Chefatron who picked it up at Toysrus there, where it is a Toysrus exclusive.

Our very own Leokearon has brought to our attention that MetalHawk and Cloudburst Prime Masters are hitting shelves in Ireland in case anyone was unaware.
